Deliberating on Love and Money!

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

I've come across several people deliberating on which is more important between Love and Money in sustaining a relationship. While some will choose Love over money, and others Money over love without considering the repercussion of ignoring the latter, it will be important to note that both Love and money plays a vital role in sustaining a relationship.

Relationships should be built on Love, which is built on the basis of communication and understanding. Love isn't selfish, hence it should about both partners coming together to achieve a common goal of growth in all already including financially. Love would allow the relationship to last through various life challenges, which is why the ability to tell the difference between actual love and mere attraction will make make a difference in the long run.

As much as Love should be the fundamental of a relationship, money is also important for sustenance. Love wouldn't pay the bills, neither will it bring a comfortable life.

For married couples, children become a responsibility through the years, people get sick, unplanned expenses come through, daily upkeep, feeding, transportation, clothing, and a lot more expenses will always exist.

The lack of sufficient funds to manage a home often results in relationship problems as time passes, and one or both parties will begin to feel his/her partner isn't good enough. The love that they thought was enough eventually diminishes due to lack of comfort, and the inability to cater for daily needs causes the initial excitement that existed to be thrown into the gutters.

I'm a strong believer of financial stability to a certain degree before relationships because both Love and money are important. Therefore, there should be no such question as Love or Money.

I choose money over love cos when you have money people tend to celebrate you, and everyone in one way or the other becomes your family.
Though when you're rich, the probability of getting true love is zero cos people would always come for the money and not love.

I choose money over love cos when you have money people tend to celebrate you, and everyone in one way or the other becomes your family.

And how would that help your relationship in the long run? That celebration is simply based on materials, which means that once the money ceases to exist, the celebration will end.

Unfortunately, that's a very poor choice.

I think both of them are needed, it's the reality we live in. Although, Love will always have the upper hand, money will always keep getting in the way.

Although, Love will always have the upper hand,

Upper hand? I don't think so.

I believe in Love and Money being terribly balanced. I appreciate financial stability to a certain degree before relationships.

Both Love and money will help sustain a relationship, hence there shouldn't be any form of comparison between both because they're both necessary.

Look at it this way, having Money doesn't add much to any relationship. Money alone wouldn't take any relationship very far.

On the other hand, Love is a fundamental basis in any relationship. Without it, there is hardly a relationship.

I don't know how to answer this. How do I answer this? 😂
I'll just say this though, we need both in equal measure in the times we're in. In my opinion, you cannot decide to completely relegate one or the other without there being some sort of loophole.

we need both in equal measure in the times we're in.

Absolutely correct. Both should be balanced. One shouldn't be prioritised over the other.

Thank you. You're absolutely right. One can't be chosen over the other but both are needed.

Love and money are intertwine, one can't be chosen over the other.
Love is what builds a relationship and money is needed for love to be properly expressed.

Sorry but.. this is not right. If that'd what money is needed for in a relationship then I must say you have misplaced priorities.

Choosing between love and money is a complex question. I believe they both work together but all in all, Love is the greatest.

Yes, love is the greatest but money is important too.
But both should be terribly balanced.

Love and money are both important. Having a balanced view of both love and money will help guild a person in the right way rather than choosing one blindly.

I think love and money are equally important in a relationship. But still a relationship won't come to be without love.

Actually love and Money are both very Important in a relationship and I believe they should be balanced in a relationship.
In this our generation a relationship without money won’t stand long ooo,we are not in the 1990’s that we have genuine love, endurance and being satisfy with what your guy can give you,it’s just that some guys will not go for what they can afford.

I'm sorry but you're missing the point. Love is not bought by the availability of money, money is simply necessary for comfortable daily living. It's not just about what your man can give you but about some necessary expenses including the unplanned ones which will always come up.

This is completely gender regardless.

For instance, cost of feeding, transportation, hospital bills, paying for children's school bills and lots more. Having a car requires maintenance and unplanned repairs too. All these things without money will cause hardship which will make any relationship go sour.

This is a very interesting topic. Like you rightly said both love and money are very important. But in own opinion both are important,so what should be considered is the degree of importance. To what extent should money be important and to what extent should love be important. I think love should take the lead role. There are situations where you have to prove your love and money will not be enough. There are other times that you will need money to provide certain things. The bottom line is that love is the force that drives you to sacrifice spending that money too.

Yes, I completely agree with you. What should be considered should be the order of importance, which should be love first because any relationship that is built on the basis of materials and money is doomed to fail in the long run.

I scanned through your introductory post and realised you didn't care to reply any of the comments. I'm sorry but that's a very poor way to start things over here. You need to take note of the little things.
You should also make corrections where necessary as mentioned in the comments.

Thanks!

Thank you so much. With time, I realise that some things shouldn't be compared side by side since both can exist simultaneously, and the existence of both makes things even interesting.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.
