BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES; During and at the end of the lesson,the students should be able to;
i) Identify and write letter Ss
ii) produce the sound of letter Ss
ii) Mention words with the sound of letter Ss
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL; A wall chart showing objects with the sounds of letter Ss.
INTRODUCTION; To begin the lesson, the pupils will be reminded of the lesson on the sounds of letter Qq and Rr.
PRESENTATION;
step 1: Teach the pupils that letter Ss is the nineteenth letter of the alphabet.
Step 2: Teach the pupils that the sound of letter Ss is /s/.
Step 3: Here are some words example for the sound of letter Ss;
- sad - /sæd/
- snake - /sneIk/
- sat - /sæt/
- see - /si:/
- seed - /si:d/
EVALUATION: To evaluate the lesson, the following questions will be asked orally thus:
i) Letter Ss is the ______ letter of the alphabet?
ii) The sound of letter Ss is_________ ?
iii) Mention 2 words for the sound of letter Ss
