How Do I influence the society other than blogging

Hello, HL community! I hope you all will be doing great.
It's been almost 1.5 years since I have been here on Hive. Many of you will not believe I know but I didn’t join Hive for financial purposes. Yes, I agree that we have to look after finances as well. We must manage resources for livelihood as well. But sometimes you do things just to satisfy yiur soul. The same is my case, I joined this platform due to my urge to write and read different thoughts of different people. this is evinced by the fact that up till now I haven’t taken any financial benefit from it.

Coming back to the main topic, I am not doing any job yet. I am about to finish my graduation in pharmacy. Only final exams are remaining. Pharm. D is a degree that ensures your qualification to get registered and play the role of Pharmacist. A pharmacist is one of three important pillars of the healthcare system i.e physician, nurse, and pharmacist.
A pharmacist is a person who deals with drugs. All matters related to medicines whether it is discovery, formulation, production, quality assurance and control, sale, counseling, or drug information, comes under the scope of a Pharmacist.

We are living in a society where antibiotics have been resisted more rapidly than being discovered. Here, people have got unwanted side effects from drugs because of improper or total lack of counseling. People are taking medicines but they are not showing their maximum efficacy because they are being administered properly. All this is happening due to a lack of drug information as they expect physicians to tell them everything which they can’t because they are disease experts, not drug experts. Physicians can diagnose the ailment, they will tell you about the disease, and then prescribe you medicines to cure it with some basic directions. It is the duty of prescription reader standing in the pharmacy to properly guide you about your prescription.

In developed countries where the role of the pharmacist is well defined, this profession plays a very great role not only in counseling and directing patients about the use of drugs but also in guiding physicians about the pros and cons of drugs. From manufacturing to dispensing, pharmacists ensure proper quality. The modification to clinical pharmacists is bringing in very good results. Now the pharmacist is not just standing in industry or retail pharmacy but hospital wards are under his precincts. He checks on drug regimens being given, assesses if there have developed any side effects, looks after drug-drug and drug-food interaction, and tells ways to prevent them.

Thus, the pharmacy profession is playing a very significant role in the healthcare system.They are playing their role in optimizing patient care and therapeutic drug monitoring.
They review the prescriptions and spot any errors in them. They guide and counsel the patient properly about prescriptions. They provide every necessary information to the patient of drug stated in the prescription. They are also involved in promoting health and drug awareness programs. They are drug information banks and guide physicians as well about the use of drug. In industries, they are dealing with the manufacturing of quality drugs.

Though I have an interest in political science, international relations, and history as well. I want to study them if provided the opportunity but if it is about my profession then I am happy with it. I chose this profession after knowing about it and now I am happy to be a very important part of the healthcare system. The upcoming time will further signify our role and scope. Thus I am happy to be called as Dr Usman Rph.
