Pyrite Pseudomorphs - Date Creek, Arizona

Here are several macro shots of Limonite after Pyrite pseudomorphs from the Date Creek quartz site near Congress, Arizona. Most of the crystals are a few millimeters in size but I did find several broken ones that were over half an inch. Unfortunately (sort of) they're often encased in the quartz so it isn't easy to come across nice exposed crystals. Still they're beautiful even if they occasionally encrusted with a limonite coating.
