The retribution
As Eric wiped the blood of the dead man off his hands, he couldn't help but feel a little bit of relieve wash through him. He had fulfilled his promise. The people who took away what was most precious to him had all paid with their lives.
Eric could still remember everything that happened like it was yesterday. The day his whole life was flipped upside down.
It was like every other day, Eric had closed from work and couldn't wait to see the love of his life. The day had been stressful and all he wanted was to have a nice bath and fall asleep in her hands, but reality had something else planned for him that day.
When Eric got home, he called out to his wife but got no response. When he claimed up the stairs, he got the shock of his life. Laying on the floor in a pool of blood was Alicia, his lovely wife.
Tears rolled down his cheeks as he rushed to her side. She was trying to say something to him but the more she tried, the more blood came out of her mouth. Eric had dialed 911 and asked Alicia to hold on that help was on its way.
By the time the ambulance got there, Alicia was no more. One of the paramedics walked up to Eric who was sitting on the stairs and gave him a piece of paper, it was a test result, Alicia was carrying their child.
Eric wept.
He swore to get revenge even if it was the last thing he did and he did.
At first, the police had come up with nothing, they couldn't locate where the thieves that had broken into his house were hiding but Eric was too determine to give up, so he started his own little investigation.
He visited almost all the pawn shops in the area asking for a particular watch, a Rolex that he had given to Alicia for her birthday, it was among the items that were stolen.
He went from shop to shop for three months until one day luck shined on him. He found the watch.
After giving the pawn broker some cash, the man agreed to tell him who sold the watch to him and that was where Eric killing began.
He killed every last one them that broke into his house that night, including the man whose blood he just wiped off his hands. He could see his dead wife from the shadows smiling at him and telling him to move on with his life. His wife Alicia might be dead, but she'll forever live on in his heart.
