Unfortunate Solution

I loved my sister Blair very much, but she had an addiction that I could no longer bear. It was very strange that a person with such a deep need could have such an uncontrolled metabolism. It was as if in her stomach there was a vacuum for only one type of food; in this case, chocolate.

It all started when Blair began a baking course a year ago. She was delighted because what she liked most was preparing desserts. Although in this course she was taught several techniques and skills, only chocolate was the main ingredient.

Brownies, cookies, cakes, drinks, creamy toppings, everything was made of chocolate. My sister at the end of each recipe, kept a big slice for herself and didn't leave me even a little bit. After finishing the course, she started making all kinds of desserts and drinks with chocolate; she even made a recipe with cocoa butter.

I was preparing three meals a day all with chocolate: in sandwiches, in casseroles, in stews, dressings; I got to a point where I was already disgusted with chocolate.

Blair's addiction grew and grew to a degree that I couldn't stop eating. Her mouth and fingers were always smeared with chocolate, and he even weighed up to a hundred kilos from all the cocoa fat. I became concerned about his health both physically and mentally, so I decided to do something about it.

My specialty is chemistry, I have my laboratory at Saint Jain University. My experiments are based on the genetic modification of living beings through solutions prepared with different chemical elements, however, I decided to change my project to help my sister.

I worked day and night in the private laboratory I had in the basement of my house. My goal was to elaborate on an immediate chemical solution that could change Blair's disordered metabolism. Between so many trials and experiments, I could not reach a concrete goal. I thought about throwing in the towel, until, miraculously, one of the rodents in my lab began to react well to one of my chemical solutions.

Its taste for cheese gradually diminished, until one day it stopped eating it, looking at it with revulsion. I rubbed my eyes and pinched my hands to corroborate that I was not dreaming. I jumped for joy and gave the little mouse a gentle hug.

I was ready to test my invention on my sister but I had to be smart; for she would never test something created in my lab. Stealthily, I crept into the kitchen in a crouch and started making some chocolate chip cookies. I mixed the dough with my formula and once they were ready I popped them in the oven.

My sister slipped through the door almost levitating at the smell, then gave me a tender, soft hug from behind.

"What are you doing, little brother?" she asked me with hamster eyes.

"Oh... it's your favorite dessert, chocolate chip cookies. I made them from the recipe you gave me, I hope you like them."

My sister sat at the table impatiently as she ate a chocolate bar. The minutes passed very slowly for me, I just prayed that things would give the desired result.

When the cookies were ready, I took them out of the oven and set them to cool, but my sister took one with alacrity without caring that it was very hot and devoured it like a hungry wolf. I gawked at her with wide eyes as if I were in the presence of a monster.

"These are delicious!" She said before grabbing another one and devouring it in one sitting. She ate all the cookies on the tray, not even leaving the crumbs behind. After she was done, she rubbed her belly and sighed.

"Thank you, little brother, you know how to follow a recipe very well," After fawning over me she walked out the kitchen door. I was stunned, now all I had to do was wait.

Days passed and I began to notice a decrease in the smell of chocolate. The kitchen was spotless; free of smeared cocoa butter or brownie crumbs on the counter. I began to notice that my chemical solution was taking effect. With a smile on my face, I decided to head downstairs to my private lab to finish some tests.

Checking my test rodents, I noticed that one was not in its cage; instead, I found a piece of cheese shaped like a mouse. "It can't be!" I vociferated with wild eyes. "Could it be possible that...?"

I bolted out of my lab and looked everywhere for Blair. I rushed to her room like lightning and, upon opening the door, found a huge human sculpture made of chocolate.

I didn't expect such a disastrous ending, now the scientist is going to have to find a solution to his ill-fated experiment. It's a shame, because chocolate really is too delicious.

Yes, because you wanted to help your sister, things made things worse, but I'm sure you'll find a solution. Thanks for reading me, friend. Good day.

The experiment worked! Your sister can't eat herself? Maybe now you have to find an antidote for your substance, if you still have any affection for your sister. Thanks for writing this fun story, @universoperdido. We like to find your comments on the other stories.

I guess returning Blair to normal won't be easy, but if it doesn't, it can still be put on display as an iconic sculpture 😅

Lovely story. I was hooked on from the start to the finish.

Though this paragraph was confusing...

Blair's addiction grew and grew to a degree that I couldn't stop eating. His mouth and fingers were always smeared with chocolate, and he even weighed up to a hundred kilos from all the cocoa fat. I became concerned about his health both physically and mentally, so I decided to do something about it.

You referred to Blair as masculine.

Asides that. Lovely💕

Thanks for sharing.

Hey, you really took away the addiction with your experience, but at what cost, good story, good luck in this contest.

The cost was too high to bear, but there are always other solutions. Thank you for reading and good wishes.

A nice move to safe your sister from possible consequences of such excessive consumption of chocolate. Nice story.

I guess this is what happens when scientists rushes into using human subject😂. Wow turning into a huge chocolate sculpture is not the kind of ending I was expecting but at least she didn't turn into Zombie😂.

Nice write up

Scientists should understand from this story that human beings are not exactly like rats. We've seen how this idea landed us into a disaster - a human being, Blair has turned into a chocolate statue.

Unfortunately, Blair was the victim of a precipitous disaster, but I'm sure her brother will find a way to bring her back to normal.

Poor Blair and poor little rat, the experiment didn't turn out as expected, the side effects were terrible. I really liked this suspenseful story, and the ending was surprising. .

Wow.... this was quite an intriguing and amusing read at the same time. I'm mightily worried now. Hope, dearest chemist that there's an antidote for her. Though a sculpture made entirely of chocolate isn't so bad, lol.

It could be exhibited in museums and art places, if a solution is not found, that could be a way to take advantage of it 😂

I didn’t expect the end at all! 🤭To think Blair died! Like the saying goes: “You are what you eat”, Blair became what she eats.

That would have been an excellent title for this story; ironic and funny. Thanks for comment.
