[Anime] Trinity Blood: The Battle Between Two Races

There are conflicts that leave indelible marks, unscrupulous organizations that seek to unleash evil, and one or two sides that have to do the dirty work. Nine hundred years ago, thanks to a catastrophic event called Armageddon, the Earth was destroyed, along with most of its population. This led to the rise of the Methuselah Empire, a race of vampires that feed exclusively on human blood. They must confront the Vatican Empire, headquartered in Rome, which controls the territories inhabited by the surviving humans who stand against the vampires.

Existen conflictos que dejan marcas imborrables, asociaciones sin escrúpulos que buscan desatar el mal y uno que otro bando que tiene que hacer el trabajo sucio. Hace 900 años atrás, gracias a un catastrófico evento llamado Armagedón, se destruyó la tierra y con ella a la mayoría de la población, esto trajo como consecuencia que se levantará el imperio de los metusalenes, una raza de vampiros que se alimentan de sangre exclusivamente humana, ellos se deben enfrentar al imperio del Vaticano, quienes tienen su sede en Roma, son aquellos que controlan los territorios dónde habitan los humanos que lograron sobrevivir y le hacen frente a los vampiros.

For both institutions striving to maintain peace, it's not so easy, as there is an extremist group called "The Order of the Rose Cross," led by the entity Rosenkreuz. From the shadows, they manipulate both groups to fight each other. To counter this group, there is the Ax (Division of Foreign Affairs), a Vatican military intelligence group formed to defeat the Order and prevent an open conflict.

Para ambas instituciones que tratan de mantener la paz, no es tan fácil ya que existe un grupo extremista llamado "La orden de la cruz de rosas", liderada por la entidad Rosenkreuz, ellos desde las sombras manipulan a ambas agrupaciones para que peleen entre si. Para poder contrarrestar a este grupo, existen los Ax ( División de asuntos exteriores ) un grupo de inteligencia militar del Vaticano, formado para vencer a la orden y no desatar un conflicto abierto,

In Ax is Abel Nightroad, a priest whose purpose is to exterminate the Order and with it Cain (the Order's leader and Abel's brother). Cain possesses a great power called Kresnik, which transforms him into a kind of vampire who feeds only on other vampires. Abel works with Esther Blanchett, a young nun from the Vatican (and also heir to the throne of Albion) who has witnessed the bloody battles of both sides and desires peace. Also with them are three android Iqus who act as their bodyguards and Caterina Sforza, a cardinal of the Vatican and commander of Ax.

En Ax está Abel Nightroad, un sacerdote cuyo propósito es exterminar a la Orden y con ella a Cain ( Jefe de la orden y hermano de Abel), este contiene un poder grande denominado Kresnik, que lo transforma en una especie de vampiro que solo se alimenta de vampiros. Abel trabaja con Esther Blanchett, una joven monja del Vaticano ( también es heredera al trono de Albión) quien ha presenciado las sangrientas batallas de ambos bandos y quiere la paz, con ellos también esta :Tres Iqus androide que actúa como guardaespaldas de ellos y Caterina Sforza, cardenala del Vaticano y comandante de Ax.

The series doesn't just follow the typical humans vs. vampires cliché; it shows how bad fanaticism can be in all its forms, racial discrimination, and how historical wounds can weigh more heavily. It's not a story of who is the bad guy and the hero; it shows the face of both sides, who, after all, are just puppets of a more atrocious organization. It shows what politics is like and what it can cause if misused.

La serie no solo sigue el típico cliché de humanos vs vampiros, muestra lo malo que puede llegar a ser el fanatismo en todas sus caras, la discriminación racial y que las heridas históricas pueden pesar más, no es una historia de quien es el malo y el héroe,, muestra la cara de ambos bandos, que después de todo son solo títeres de una organización más atroz, muestra como es la política y, lo que puede llegar a causar si se emplea de mala manera.

I highly recommend watching both the anime (it has 24 episodes) and reading the light novels. I love the animation and art style, which is classic and gothic, fusing neo-gothic art with a futuristic, apocalyptic feel. Regarding the ending, it's somewhat confusing since the creator, Sunao Yoshida, died unexpectedly before finishing the work. Both the "canon" and anime endings are based on some sketches the author left behind, which they used to try and get closer to the intended ending. I give this series a 10/10; I highly recommend it.

Recomiendo demasiado ver tanto el anime (son 24 episodios) como leer sus novelas ligeras. Amo el estilo de animación y dibujo que es clásico y gótico, fusionando el arte neogótico con algo futurista apocalíptico. Con respecto al final, pues es algo confuso ya que el creador Sunao Yoshida murió de forma inesperada antes de terminar la obra, el final tanto "canon" como del anime son gracias a algunos bocetos que dejó el autor y con eso trataron de acercarse al final deseado; A esta serie le doy un 100/100, se las recomiendo muchísimo.
