Wednesday Walk | Finding some inner peace through walking and sweets hunting

Rainy Wednesday Hiveans! Today, my loving one's school is celebrating Teacher's day. Actually, I didn't know that their program was today, so I wasn't able to prepare what to give to his adviser. The good thing is that there are sellers who sell flowers at the gate of their school. I let the loving one pick what flower he would give to his teacher, and he chose a fresh yellow one. I told him that it's okay if he doesn't have a gift from his adviser because what's important is that he studies hard and doesn't give his teachers a headache. My child is a late bloomer and super hyper especially when he is in school, so one of my challenges is to always tell him not to be too naughty in the classroom because not all children can get his good vibes.

There's also a typhoon here, but the local government of Manila did not suspend school because the rain we are experiencing is not that strong, and the good thing here is that the heavy rains only occur every night when the children are at home and resting.

After a few minutes, the rain stopped, and the children went to their respective classrooms after the flag ceremony. I then decided to go home.

Sun is starting to rise, and I can feel the vitamin D. How I wish my son could catch up with the king of the sun at this time so that he can at least taste its rays because their classes start at 6:30 in the morning and they need to be in school right on time since they do not tolerate late children. A few weeks ago, when they weren't in school yet, I always let him play on our open terrace on the third floor so that his back could get some sun. Lately, I haven't been able to do this, so he has a cough again. Good thing I am always prepared with medications so it doesn't get worse, but for me, the best remedy comes from natural resources, sunlight, fruits, and veggies.. Let's also add some fresh air.

This is the bridge that just opened to the public a few weeks ago. Because of this bridge, we are no longer riding a boat to get here in Sta Ana. But the bad news was that the boatmen lost their income.

Anyway, I don't have school today at my university, so I decided to go for a long walk. I am not sure if I am in my fertility window because I am craving some sweets. Because of the cravings my eyes were searching for, my feet brought me here to Sta. Ana. There is a market where I can buy different types of food (rice cakes).

I picked sapin-sapin, a three-colored, layered glutinous rice, and also bibingka, made of glutinous rice and topped with a coconut caramel topping.

I also passed by the shop for Palabok, a noodle dish with shrimp sauce, made with pork broth, and brightly hued from annatto or atsuete seeds. Here at the Sta Ana market you can taste the famous Palabok. I don't know the origin of why many people sell Palabok here, but I can say how special their products are compared to those who sell Palabok at a cheap price. This noodle is for my Mom because I'm already good with rice cakes.

I went home without burning a huge amount of calories because I ate the rice cakes while walking. Fortunately, I still have some left to eat, but I will serve this as a later snack.

Walking is a great way to escape our chaotic lives, find peace and also experience new things. I hope that everyone of us here is having a good time strolling. God bless and have a blessed week! 😇🌻🍀
