Way back 22 years ago I said yes to my husband. We didn't get married! He courted for me almost a year. He waited for me to come back in their province, but I never said a promise to him. I was amazed by his ways and patience. He called me when I was Manila but I didn't gave him any of my contact information. I guess he paid $2 just to call me. He said he borrow a phone from his cousin. And he got my number from my cousins.

Mom and I went to my aunt's house in the province. I didn't really want to come because I was very lazy that day. But my mom said that my cousin are already there. I prepare my clothes. I wore faded black skirt jeans below my knee, black sando and my hair was short. I needed to moose to it. My husband said from the moment I went down from the car I caught his attention. He said he already love then. I didn't notice him before, all I want was to bond with my cousins.

I went to the back and saw my uncle dressing a chicken. I saw my husband and called him manong or old man. But he was just seven years older than me. He just smile and I also left. That night, the old ones are already asleep, me and cousins are having a bonding. All of sudden my boy cousin that Jeff wanted to talk to me in private. I said I don't want to go! And I hate black! But my cousin said that his a good man. And I said alright I'll talk to him.

The moon was so bright that night it's brightness is reflecting on the water. He asked me to sat beside him, I saw a bottle of beer, I thought he couldn't speak without drinking first. So I broke the silence and said are you going to drink? He said he and his father had a misunderstanding. I said, your lucky you have one, I've lost him when I was young. He didn't drink but he frankly said! I like you! Can you be my girlfriend? I said, your too fast and I'll be going home tomorrow and I don't know when will I come back? He said I'll wait for you. I answered, don't close your eyes to someone else! For now we'll stay good friend! But me was all he wanted. I just noticed that my head was leaning on his shoulder.

The next day I can directly look on his beautiful eyes. I saw how sad he is when he saw me in my aunts car. He looked at me and he wanted to say I'll keep on waiting for you

After a year I transferred living in my aunts house. I saw how happy he was to see me. And magic did it, the 22 years wasn't easy but the best part! I didn't notice that 22 years had already became a memory of our best and worse years together.
