Discovering my talent lately

While most people find it easy to discover their talent because of how visible it is, others find theirs lately and by then the vibes to explore it are long dead while some people never even theirs.

I happened to fall under the set of people that discovered their talents lately and had no interest in exploring them.

@10, I noticed I could do a lot of artwork like painting, sketching, shading neatly, and calligraphy. I had beautiful sketchbooks for all my work since I mostly did it during leisure or when I am forced to sleep in. I recreated a great number of pictures in my "Book of Bible story"

When I started high school, I was top-notch in drawing, painting, etc. Most times I would help my friends with their work too but I still cared less about that talent in me because I had always wanted to become a medical doctor so my brain was wired to function only that way.

Until then I became a teacher and I started doing beautiful things for my kids, making designs as well to decorate the class, it was there I noticed I could do well in the art world and that I had suppressed that talent as well.

With my little knowledge of art and craft, I made beautiful artwork including painting, mosaic, collage, paper mache, clay work, drawing, designing, etc.

I was approved by one of the teachers and he questioned why I never went into art. He stated that I would have excelled perfectly if I ventured into it.

And he added that I should engage or get registered in an art studio and learn and develop the skill as well.

Art and craft was a talent I ignored and navigating my way down there will be quite difficult and stressful.

Wow, I'm the same as you. I found my talent in high school but I didn't develop because of the limited funds I had.
