Ich hab tatsächlich noch einen Act gefunden, den ich zu meinen Classics zählen kann und irgendwie vergessen hatte - YEaH - zum Jubiläum was aus UK!

Rock Classics edition 50 with a missed act

Hiya guys - last edition I was in doubt to find any RockClassics act I did not cover yet and did a little compilation of decent Rock acts in the previous edition - but I found something!! After tidying up the cellar that included my massive vinyl and CD stock I stumbled over a band from the UK I loved during the end of the 80ies. A band I found via a video TV station in Germany with an impressive female lead singer and strong rock sounds, not entirely my usual taste but they been special.

Transvision Vamp - some words

Seems the band was indeed only atvice from 1986 to 1992 but had some major success during that short period. After I bought their album "Velveteen" I was convinced, each and every song of that album was good, at least towards my personal taste. And I promise it was not because of the performance of Wendy James only - they had a fresher rock style as other bands esepcially from the UK.

Originally Transvision Vamp was founded by Dave Parsons, Nick Christian Sayer and Wendy James. While Wendy was something new to a band mixing punk with rock and new wave I indeed liked most songs and performances of the band. Wendy was often playing the songs within her solo career later and still is.

Seems the split was because of different interests between the music production company, the band and whether they shall play commercial music oor not. Sure my friend @steevc can say more about them as I - looking forward if he was also a fan.
