The Biggest Paradise for Bird's Nest Mushrooms
Good afternoon everyone, this is my entry on the second Friday of August for this #FungiFriday community and thanks to @ewkaw for providing a place to discuss and share mushrooms around the world.
On this occasion I will share about bird's nest mushrooms that I found in a fairly deep valley, mushrooms that live on the edge of waterfalls and on piles of wood chips that have started to rot, these mushrooms are very beautiful and have their own uniqueness. There are so many mushrooms that it can be estimated that the number is almost a thousand. It lives fresh and neatly arranged in decaying sawdust, the site's humid conditions and lots of large trees and moss grow so this location becomes a bird mushroom paradise.
Cyathus Mushrooms or often called bird's nest mushrooms have a slightly dark brown color that is round when young and a brown furry outer layer of skin that surrounds the smooth surface of the mushroom skin. Smooth white skin will destroy itself when the mushroom seeds will look old and the seeds will be black like in the following photo
In the photo above it can be seen that the mushroom nest is old and the mushroom seeds are blackened and the bird's nest mushroom is starting to enter the harvest period and is still covered by a thin white skin on top, the natural process and age of the fungus will make the mushroom skin soft. The white color will be destroyed and that means the mushroom seeds can be planted
The seeds of this bird's nest mushroom will be left in the old mushroom furnace and will spread around the mushroom when the mushroom skin is crushed and will spread around the moist media area to grow Back into a new bird's nest mushroom
From the old mushroom seeds, new mushroom seeds will grow or you could say spores, these seeds will grow on pieces of wood or leaves that are starting to rot, if the conditions around the mushrooms will be moist and the planting media will be moist then these mushrooms will continue to live and develop well without must be disturbed by the bird's nest
This bird's nest mushroom found in the forest valley of Aceh looks beautiful, a mushroom that can be said to be rarely found in forest or park locations, but thrives in this valley. So I took some photos for me to display in this #FungiFriday community and this mushroom photo is the result I took using a smartphone camera and I also used an additional macro lens which you can see in the table below
