Education Deserted. #Photofeed Contest Round 71. Black and White

Education is the life of development and civilization. Without education there won't be civilization and there won't be development. Development is not actually worthwhile if it does not affect the individual. Personal development gives the proper essence of societal development. There wouldn't have been technological advancement if there were no education. Inquisitive minds of old were curious about knowing something, that led them to the life changing discoveries they made. The bedrock of science has been education. Scientists were learners. Our fathers who succeeded even in winning territories through warfare learn the strategies they applied in their engagements. Education can't be ignored and then expect tangible societal and individual development.

Why are we ignoring education? Why are our education institutions abandoned to rot? Why are the youths in this generation playing down on education? Why is the government playing politics with educational infrastructures? Why are there less teachers in our classroom blocks? Why? Why? Why?

The educational system in the grassroots has become a shameful monument. Classroom blocks have depleted in structures. There are no more teachers in our community schools. Our youths have been made to see that education is not necessary. What a shame!

I call on the Nigerian government to place priority on educational development. I call on proprietors of schools to decease from encouraging examination malpractice and forging certificates for candidates. I call on the youths of this generation to leave the creeks, and jungles; to decease from smoking and drinking and get to school so that they could learn a decent lifestyle and become productive citizens. Let's get back to school.
