Good afternoon, friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. I'm happy to stop by and share a lovely idea with you. This time, I'm sharing the step-by-step instructions for making a cute lock decoration. I love making these adorable door hangers for children's rooms; I think it's such a sweet idea, easy to make, and can be completely personalized to each person's taste. I thought it was a good idea to add the child's head, the cloud on top with their name, and a couple of extra decorations, like these two little stars.

🌟 PROCEDIMIENTO | 🌟 PROCESS
✨PASO 1:
Lo primero que debemos hacer es tomar una hoja blanca y comenzar a dibujar la idea que tenemos en mente de cómo queremos la base de nuestro colgante para la cerradura; pueden encontrar muchos ejemplos para su diseño, pero en mi caso lo hice pensando en un gancho de ropa, jaja. Así que este es el diseño que le doy al colgante y de resto, pienso si lo quiero rectangular, redondeado, etc. Seguido de esto, vamos a dibujar la decoración que le queremos dar a este colgante. Cuando tengamos todo listo, es momento de transferirlo a los colores correspondientes de foami, como explico a continuación:
✨Gorro: 7 cm x 3 cm en foami azul.
✨Cabello: 5,5 cm x 2,5 cm en foami marrón.
✨Cabeza y cuello: 5,3 cm x 4,5 cm en foami crema.
✨Vestimenta: 3 cm x 2,5 cm en foami azul.
✨Nube: 7 cm x 4 cm en foami blanco.
✨Estrellas: 1,5 cm x 1,5 cm en foami amarillo.
✨STEP 1:
The first thing we need to do is take a white sheet of paper and start sketching the idea we have in mind for the base of our lock hanger; You can find many examples for your design, but in my case, I made mine thinking of a clothes hanger, haha. So, this is the design I give to the pendant, and then I decide if I want it rectangular, rounded, etc. Next, we'll draw the decoration we want for this pendant. When we have everything ready, it's time to transfer it to the corresponding colors of foam, as I explain below:
✨Hat: 7 cm x 3 cm in blue foam.
✨Hair: 5.5 cm x 2.5 cm in brown foam.
✨Head and neck: 5.3 cm x 4.5 cm in cream foam.
✨Clothing: 3 cm x 2.5 cm in blue foam.
✨Cloud: 7 cm x 4 cm in white foam.
✨Stars: 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm in yellow foam.

✨PASO 2:
Al estar listas todas las piezas, es momento de dar color a los bordes con pinturas o marcadores que hagan contraste. En mi caso, utilizo marcadores, así que para el gorro utilicé un color más oscuro; para el cabello, ropa y estrellas, lo mismo. Pero en cuanto a la cabeza, utilicé un color marrón, y para la nube un color azul para dar contraste.
✨STEP 2:
Once all the pieces are ready, it's time to color the edges with contrasting paints or markers. In my case, I use markers, so for the hat I used a darker color; the same for the hair, clothes, and stars. But for the head, I used brown, and for the cloud, blue for contrast.

✨PASO 3:
Al estar secas las piezas, es momento de dibujar detalles más específicos, como lo serían los ojos, cejas, boca, nariz, orejas, rubor; definir mejor el cabello, la ropa y el gorro. En cuanto a la nube, le escribí el nombre del niño.
✨STEP 3:
Once the pieces are dry, it's time to draw more specific details, such as the eyes, eyebrows, mouth, nose, ears, and blush; and to better define the hair, clothes, and hat. As for the cloud, I wrote the child's name.

✨PASO 4:
Al estar todo seco para evitar dañarlo con nuestras manos, es momento de pegar hasta formar cada una de las decoraciones. En cuanto al niño, comencé pegando primero la cabeza, luego el cabello, el gorro y seguido la vestimenta, junto con una estrella en la punta del gorro. En cuanto a la nube, pegamos solamente dos estrellas a los lados.
✨STEP 4:
Once everything is dry to avoid damaging it with our hands, it's time to glue each of the decorations together. For the child, I started by gluing the head, then the hair, the hat, and finally the clothes, along with a star on the top of the hat. For the cloud, we only glued two stars on the sides.

✨PASO 5:
Ahora sí, ya casi para finalizar, es momento de pasar el patrón que teníamos en mente para la base del colgante a la cartulina metalizada azul. Al estar recortada, es momento de pegar las decoraciones a nuestro gusto, como dije al inicio: primero pegué en la parte superior la nube y debajo pegué la cabeza del niño.
✨STEP 5:
Now, almost finished, it's time to transfer the pattern we had in mind for the base of the pendant to the blue metallic cardstock. Once it's cut out, it's time to glue on the decorations as we like, as I mentioned at the beginning: first I glued the cloud on top and then the boy's head underneath.
