Sometimes competing is not a good idea... or is it? πŸ˜…β˜•

I love coffee, so when I passed by "The roses" mall and saw the announcement that the coffee shop "The Petite Coffee" was going to hold a competition of how much coffee you can drink, I didn't think twice to get closer and sign up to participate (besides, the prize looked pretty juicy). It all sounds good, doesn't it?, but no, it wasn't all good, I was so blinded by the idea of the prize and tasting delicious coffee, that I completely forgot that drinking too much coffee sometimes sends me to the bathroom...

The day of the competition, the coffee shop "The Petite Coffe" was quite full, it is a coffee shop with a large space, so it is a good place for events where several people can gather and a competition is an event of this type. Upon entering the cafeteria I felt a little overwhelmed by the amount of people, but my mind was on the prize and on tasting the delicious coffees that were going to be served to the participants, so without giving it much thought I went straight to the confirmation area, grabbed my number and sat down at the table where the other participants were, anxiously waiting for the start of the competition.

A few minutes passed, the competition started and everything was going smoothly. The team in charge of delivering the coffees began by serving us a normal dark coffee, which was delicious. Then they served us a coffee with milk, I don't usually drink much coffee with milk, although I like it a lot because it is the coffee that particularly usually takes me to the bathroom, but my brain at that moment didn't think of that, so I drank it and the truth is that its flavor was very delicate, I liked it. The third coffee we were served was one with chocolate (Mocaccino), my favorite. I enjoyed that Mocaccino like you have no idea, it was really tasty, but it was after I drank it, that the disaster started and the call to the throne began (if you know what I mean...).

My stomach started to behave in a certain way, which made me remember my reality and come to my senses: when I drink too much coffee, it makes me want to go to the bathroom. I got cold for a moment, what was I going to do now?, it was only the third cup of coffee and I already felt like I was going to explode. I looked around me, all the other participants looked calm as they enjoyed their coffees, then I saw myself in one of the mirrors in the place, I looked pale. My God, what did I do?, why did I put myself in this embarrassing situation?, how could I forget that this happened to me when I drank too much coffee? For a moment I felt like I was going crazy, but I couldn't stay like this, I had to do something.

I stood still for a moment, to allow myself to think clearly. I knew I couldn't just pretend nothing was happening and keep drinking coffee, because everything would get worse, I just couldn't take it, so I made up a white lie. I told one of the attendants that I would leave because I remembered that I had something very important to do and that I would just sit at one of the tables and wait for someone to pick me up. The attendant looked at me funny, but agreed and made the announcement. People applauded me for just participating and wished me well. I thanked them as I did my best to keep my composure and not explode.... I didn't want to be so obvious, so I sat for five minutes before heading to the bathroom. At the point when I couldn't take it anymore, I allowed myself to let go, what a peace.

As I left the bathroom, I felt like a new person and politely said my goodbyes and headed for the exit. Before I left, the organizing committee gave me a bag of their special coffee produced by them as a way of thanking me for participating. I thanked them and told them that I would visit their coffee shop more often, as their coffees were really delicious.

It wasn't all bad, was it?, I mean, I'm not going to stop drinking coffee, I just know that I have to drink in moderation heh, heh, heh.

I can’t imagine being in that situation, running to the loo. Escaping from the people at the event and hiding the weird expression on my face. Thank you for sharing, this was a fun read. Truly enjoyed every bit of the suspense @valeriavalentina πŸ’―
