Rising Star Journal - Road to Fans Millionaire #46 + Music Spotlight + Giveaway

Greetings everyone, how has the week been for all of you? Hope you've enjoyed the Digimon songs that I shared with you guys last week and learnt more about the difference in the type of songs used at the start, the end and also as an insert. Today's post will be Music Spotlight, game progress, results of the last giveaway and the new giveaway this week.

Music Spotlight

The week for music spotlight, I will be doing a sharing on Tik Tok/Douyin Top Songs or in Chinese, 抖音神曲, which literally means Tik Tok divine tunes. Tik Tok and Douyin (Chinese version) shares the same interface but operates separately. Douyin was released in September 2016, one year ahead of the international version Tik Tok which was released in September 2017.

This app started to take the world by storm, going viral quickly and being used by many celebrities. It also brought rise to many viral trend, funny short videos and influencer content. Unfortunately, due to possible cybersecurity risk, misinformation and privacy concerns, many countries/government the use of Tik Tok in official/work devices.

While Tik Tok or Douyin main purpose is on short video clips from 3 seconds to 10mins, just video alone would not cause it to have such a great adoption, the presence of the songs and music is the key to making those videos viral.

Based on my personal experience on Tik Tok, the songs that went viral had the following characteristics:

• Catchy
• Danceability
• Upbeat
• Relatability

Catchy songs help to grab viewer attention in the shortest time span and danceability allows dance trends to go viral. Upbeat resonates with the fun and light hearted atmosphere which is pleasant to the ears. Relatability nature of the songs whether it's about love, friendship, empowerment, or everyday life, songs that people can connect with are more likely to go viral.

Songs can come from both known artiste and also from those that are relatively unknown. So here are some top and viral Tik Tok tunes:

Matteo - Panama

I included a Chinese song which is one of the top song for Douyin.
