Social Media Challenge - The Celebration Is Not Over

Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Last week I shared on the celebration that Splinterlands is having. The Baron's Bounty event to commemorate the Bitcoin halving that occurs every 4 years. Do take note, the celebration is not yet over and there is still time to snap up the 2 promo cards. Today's post will be a recap of what is in the event and also sharing of a match fighting against the promo card which my opponent had in his lineup.

Promo Cards

This event see the opportunity to purchase 2 promo cards. And I have to say, these 2 promo cards are really good because both of them come with Halving. Halving is one crazy ability.

Baron Fyatt

Price of Card: 31250 Dec/Credit, with up to 50% discount using vouchers to defray the cost.

Henchling Enforcer

Price of card: 3125 Dec/Credit, with up to 50% discount using vouchers to defray the cost.

No matter which card, both are good. Do note, that they are dual splinter cards so they are totally worth your DEC/vouchers. If you are not convinced, in a later segment, I will showcase a match that I face-off with the promo card and witness how crazy it can be.

How to participate?
Every DEC/Credit spend to buy the promo cards will earn you 1 point. Players will qualify for the draw if 10k DEC/Credits are spent. Do note, if you have used vouchers to defray the cost when purchasing, the defrayed cost will not earn you a point. Also, the earlier you participate in the event, your multiplier in the leader is also increased.

Leaderboard Reward Titles
The points that you spent to get do not go in vain, pit it up against fellow players and vie for the titles and show to others how much you love the game and how much you have supported the game.

To convince you that even the Rare promo card is good, I am doing this battle sharing to let you witness how good it is. In this match, it is my opponent that used it against me.

Ruleset: Aimless, What Doesn't Kill You, Armoured Up
Mana Limit: 43

Selection Analysis
A match that had three rulesets. In this, I put up a speedier lineup for the mid range cards hoping that Martyr will strike then Grund and Quora will start running rampage with further protection from Queen Mycelia and emergency tank heal should there be a need from Goblin Psychic. Clockwork Aide is present to further speed up my cards and absorb some sneak attack if there are any.

When I saw my opponent's summoner, my heart sank. It was a Level 3 Alric which means likely this guy is a old timer that will have a large number of cards at his disposal. And I was right, the lineup fielded by my opponent was by no means strong. From the likes of Kraken, Ruler of the Seas and Halfing Alchemist was already a pain to face. Oshannus and the new Henchling Enforcer just added more misery. An uphill battle for sure and it definitely will not be fun face 2 cards that can give halving onto our damage. Opponent also prepared a double blast which is really good for scatter ruleset.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Things move a little too fast for my liking. While I prepared Clockwork Aide for sneak attackers, it was zap to death by a magic attack. Marksrat killed as intended to trigger Martyr but there are 2 things that happened that annoyed me. Martyr that was given to Grund which brought its attack to 4 was halved when being hit by the Chemist and Quora's damage was halved when hit by Enforcer.

Round 2 - Things got even crazier, both Goblin Psychic and Queen Mycelia were killed due to blast and scattered magic attacks. Thankfully both the halving attackers missed, else it will be a rage quit. Though by this stage, to win the match is almost impossible.

Turn 3 and 4, was just my lineup getting torn apart by my opponent to finally overwhelm me totally and clock a win for him and a loss for me. This lineup is no joke, really strong no doubt.

Battle Summary
As per my synopsis, I was fully overwhelmed. With just 1 turn of halving, it is already bad enough for me where Grund and Quora from beasts becoming just mere scratching my opponent's lineup. Whatever I planned even if I was able to boost up attack stats will just be halved whenever my cards get hit by the halving attackers.
