The weekly challenge has changed, and now the battles will no longer be with the card or the type of card chosen, but by the battle rule. You can check out the new rules by clicking here.

This week the rule is:

AIM TRUE

Melee and ranged attacks always hit the target.

On the site Splintercards they give a hint that it was exactly the strategy I thought, but it was not very effective.

Blind, flying, dodge are useless. This Ruleset doesn't give Ranged monsters the ability to attack from the first position. Choose higher speed or higher health combined with high damage output. Return Fire ability is great in this ruleset.

I left in bold the part that I decided to adopt as a strategy for my battle. However, as you can see below, the victory did not come, on the contrary, I lost 22 rating with this defeat. But let's see where I went wrong.

SUMMONERS

For the little mana we could use, 16, I thought of putting a card with magic damage, betting that my opponent would put a greater number of cards but all with 2 to 4 life, which could make me eliminate them if I had Enough life to hold until the end of the rounds.

With that in mind, I set up my strategy with the following cards:

POSITION 1

image.png

As I decided to focus my attack on magic damage, I didn't necessarily need them to be in the first position, which would give me an advantage of being able to put Furious Chicken in position 1, as a discard card.

POSITION 2

image.png

Soon after with a high speed and a large amount of life points (thinking about the same strategy as Splintercards), I chose the Djinn Oshannus to start the opponent's destruction with 3 magic damage, 5 speed and 11 life, even being able to escape magic damage with Void and Phase skills (which I found out today, that Aim True ignores Phase, from reading the official post note, always learning).

POSITION 3

image.png

Thinking that the opponent might have cards with 4 or 5 life, the Djinn would not be able to kill them with one attack, so I put Ice Pixie that has 3 speed at the cost of 2 mana, which could help with 2 more of magic damage. And it would still have a shield for possible attacks with Stealth.

POSITION 4

image.png

Finally, in position 4, I feel that I made a mistake when it came to placing Crustacean King, as it is customary whenever I have 3 mana left to place it for its Healing ability, which in this game was disabled because there was a rule that prohibited healing, which that I ended up forgetting.

ENEMY STRATEGY

image.png

I have no way of knowing what my opponent was thinking when he set up his line of cards, but I believe he also focused on attacking with high damage cards with low life, making him choose cards with Stealth, summoner granting +1 physical damage , and the Dhampir with Double Strike, thus in a round only doing 10 damage.

WHAT COULD BE DIFFERENT?

Using the tool SplinterTools I saw that my chance of winning was 0%. So I made a change by removing Crustacean King and putting 2 cards in its place, Kelp Initiate and Creeping Ooze, putting them together with Furious Chicken in last position, so that it could hold Stealth attacks until Djinn eliminated all cards opponents. This change made my win chance go up to 100%.

AIM TRUE

Ataques corpo a corpo e à distância sempre atingem o alvo.
