Brazil: The easiest way to Hive

Easy. A paroxytone that has one of its definitions in the Brazilian dictionary as: 'which is understood without effort; Of course, understandable.'.

I think I will have to change the title of this post. In fact, Hive and the entire web3 cannot be understood without effort, however, I believe that nothing new does. In the early days of social networks, we had to understand how Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and many other technologies that adapted over time worked. With Hive it would be no different.

However, just as human preferences change, technology also changes. There are more people wanting to own their own profiles, and a lot more of their own money. And that's when the responsibility of wanting to learn how to take care of it comes in.

People closed to the web2 and curated by the State, just want to live their lives and let someone else take care of their responsibilities for them. And everything is fine. After all, this is purely their choice.

However, there are people who don't want a nanny state to take care of what they can and can't say, and how they should or shouldn't allocate their resources, and before the arrival of web3 they didn't have many options. Even with the arrival of web3, but 10 years ago there weren't many choices on how to get out of the clutches of centralization.

And the focus of this publication, and consequently the target audience sought to be part of Hive in Brazil, are these people. It's obvious that developing countries tend to have a greater appreciation for tools that provide you with extra income, after all, continuing to use the internet as you do, but having extra change at the end of the month to pay an energy bill is very satisfying. .

And because it is a continental country like Brazil, it opens up the possibility of bringing many more people, since the current population is just over 200 million people, where if you can bring 0.001% into Hive, that reflects just over 2,000 new users.

Currently (October 18, 2023) the HiveBR community Discord has 333 users, not all of them Brazilian, many inactive, but following the metrics above, we would only need 0.00017% of new Brazilian users to double this number.

With that in mind, I thought of ways to bring this target audience to Hive, and I believe that the growth project at , where we have fewer writers (unlike X), but people who seek to engage more, as they are looking to grow and become influencers. And Hive is the fastest way to do this, due to the small number of active users yet, and the possibility of short-term profitability, unlike Instagram where they would have to create relevance to try to close some advertising so that they start receiving them.

Let's see if this idea will yield any results, in the meantime I'll share with you in the next post my evolution in X, the metrics, and the strategies I'm thinking about for growing my account there.

Brasil: O caminho mais fácil para Hive

Fácil. Uma paroxítona que leva como uma de suas definicões no dicionário brasileiro como: 'que se compreende sem esforço; claro, compreensível.'.

Acredito que terei que mudar o título dessa publicação. De fato, a Hive e toda web3 não se compreende sem esforço, porém, acredito que nenhuma novidade o faz. Nos primórdios das redes sociais, tivemos que entender o funcionamento do Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, e muitas outras tecnologias que foram se adaptando ao longo do tempo. Com a Hive não seria diferente.

Porém, assim como as preferências humanas mudam, a tecnologia também muda. Há mais pessoas querendo ser donas de seus próprios perfis, e muito mais do seu próprio dinheiro. E é nesse momento que entra a responsabilidade de querer aprender como cuidar disso.

Pessoas fechadas na web2 e curateladas pelo Estado, querem apenas viver sua vida e deixar alguém cuidar das responsabilidades delas por eles. E está tudo bem. Afinal, essa é uma escolha puramente deles.

No entanto, há pessoas que não querem que um Estado babá cuidem do que eles podem ou não dizer, e como devem ou não alocar seus recursos, e antes da chegada da web3 eles não tinham muitas opções. Até mesmo com a chegada da web3, mas 10 anos atrás já não tinham muitas escolhas de como sair das garras da centralização.

E o foco dessa publicação, e consequentemente o público alvo buscado para fazer parte da Hive no Brasil, são essas pessoas. É óbvio que países em desenvolvimento tende a terem um apreço maior por ferramentas que lhe forneçam uma renda extra, afinal, continuar usando a internet como você usa, mas ter no final do mês um trocado a mais para pagar uma conta de energia é muito satisfatório.

E por se tratar de um país continental como é o Brasil, abre a possibilidade de trazer muito mais pessoas, uma vez que a população atual é pouco mais de 200 milhões de pessoas, onde se você consegue trazer 0,001% para dentro da Hive, isso reflete em pouco mais de 2.000 novos usuários.

Atualmente (18 de outubro de 2023) o Discord da comunidade HiveBR possui 333 usuários, nem todos brasileiros, muitos inativos, porém seguindo as métricas acima, precisariamos apenas de 0,00017% de novos usuários brasileiros para dobrar esse número.

Pensando assim, pensei maneiras de como trazer esse público alvo para a Hive, e acredito que o projeto de crescimento no X guiado pelo @anomadsoul seja importante, porém tentarei também fazer um trabalho de captação de pessoas através do Instagram, uma rede social mais visual, onde temos menos escritores (diferentemente do X), porém um pessoal que busca engajar mais, uma vez que está procurando crescer e virar influenciadores. E a Hive é o caminho mais rápido para isso, devido a pouca quantidade de usuários tivos ainda, e a possibilidade de rentabilidade a curto prazo, diferente do Instagram onde teriam que criar uma relevância para tentar fechar alguma publicidade para que começassem a receber.

Vamos ver se essa ideia dará algum resultado, enquanto isso deixarei com vocês na próxima postagem minha evolução no X, as métricas, e as estratégias que estou pensando para o crescimento da minha conta por lá.
