¡Hola, amigos! ¿Qué tal están? La verdad, aquí en mi trabajo hemos estado bastante full, muchísimo diría yo. En esta oportunidad estamos ensayando para una presentación que vamos a tener en una escuela de la misma zona donde funciona el núcleo. De hecho, es una escuela donde muchos de mis alumnos asisten regularmente a clase y, ¡bueno, vale!, me emociona bastante la idea de presentarnos allí.
Esta vez estaremos presentando el mismo repertorio, pero agregamos una canción más, tanto para los niños de iniciación como para los de la banda rítmica. Sin embargo, no se deja de estudiar ni de perfeccionar, porque como les digo a mis alumnos: "la práctica hace al maestro". Siempre que podamos ensayar nuevamente lo haremos, más aún porque a ellos no los veo diariamente sino dos veces a la semana (a menos que se programe algún ensayo extra). De esta manera, podemos practicar y repasar de "arriba a abajo" todo el repertorio a presentarse en esta ocasión.
Me emociona bastante el hecho de poder volver a presentarnos en otro lugar; sacarlos a ellos, digamos, del contexto de recibir cada clase en el salón y, por supuesto, mostrar lo que tenemos preparado y lo que hemos logrado. Realmente me llena muchísimo de orgullo y me emociona bastante que otros niños puedan ver el trabajo y se entusiasmen también, porque en El Sistema de Orquestas siempre estaremos prestos a recibir niños y a enseñarles este mundo tan bonito.
En mi caso, al estar en el programa de Iniciación Musical, digamos que soy esa maestra que abre ese mundo de posibilidades a un niño para que se forme como músico, ya sea inicialmente en el área coral, en un instrumento o en cualquier otra rama en las que pueda desarrollarse según el núcleo en el que esté.
Como siempre le digo a mis representantes: sé que no todos mis alumnos van a ser músicos, pero sé que la música va a ser una huella súper importante en su crecimiento, en su aprendizaje y en el desarrollo de su disciplina. Y si alguno de ellos no llega a ser músico, espero ser yo esa maestra a la que recuerden con amor en sus inicios, tanto en la vida musical como en el área profesional en la que ellos decidan desarrollarse.

Hello, friends! How are you all doing? To be honest, we've been quite busy here at work—very busy, I'd say! Right now, we are rehearsing for a performance we’re going to have at a school in the same area where our núcleo (music center) operates. In fact, it's a school that many of my students regularly attend, and wow, I'm so excited about the idea of performing there!
This time, we will be performing the same repertoire, but we’ve added one more song for both the initiation children and the rhythm band. However, we never stop practicing or perfecting it because, as I always tell my students: "practice makes perfect." Whenever we can squeeze in another rehearsal, we do, especially since I don't see them every day, but just twice a week (unless an extra rehearsal is scheduled). This way, we can practice and run through the entire repertoire from top to bottom for this upcoming performance.
I am incredibly excited about performing in a different venue again—getting them out of the usual classroom environment, so to speak, and, of course, showing what we’ve prepared and achieved. It truly fills me with so much pride and excites me that other children will get to see our work and get inspired too. After all, in El Sistema (The Orchestra System), we are always ready to welcome children and teach them about this beautiful world.
In my case, being part of the Musical Initiation program, I guess you could say I'm that teacher who opens up a world of possibilities for a child to grow as a musician—whether they start in choir, learning an instrument, or any other branch they can develop into, depending on their núcleo.
As I always tell the parents: I know not all of my students will become musicians, but I know that music will leave a deeply important mark on their growth, their learning, and the development of their discipline. And if some of them don't end up pursuing music, I hope to be that teacher they remember fondly from their early days, whether in their musical journey or whatever professional path they choose to follow.
