¡Hola, amigos! ¿Qué tal están? Bienvenidos a mi blog. El día de hoy nos fuimos a la calle; tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a la feria de mi pueblo, las famosas Ferias de Mayo. En ellas traen carritos para todos los niños, muchos negocios de comida de aquí de la ciudad y, sobre todo, muchos animales. Estos son unos días en los que toda la ciudad se vuelca a este lugar que, realmente, queda muy cerca de mi casa.

Hi, friends! How are you all doing? Welcome to my blog. Today we went out on the town; we had the chance to attend my town’s fair, the famous May Fairs. They bring in rides for all the kids, lots of local food vendors, and, above all, lots of animals. These are the days when the whole town flocks to this place, which is actually very close to my house.

​Muchos pensarán que nos la pasamos ahí, pero generalmente vamos solo una o dos veces, porque la cantidad de gente es impresionante y esto no es algo que sea mucho de mi agrado, y menos si ando con mi hija. Pero hoy nos alistamos a eso de las 5:30 p.m., porque sabía cómo se iba a poner ese parque y, efectivamente, se puso muy full. Por suerte, logramos comprar los tickets antes de que se hiciera una cola enorme; cada ticket costó 1.5 dólares.

A lot of people might think we spend all our time there, but we usually only go once or twice, because the crowds are overwhelming—and that’s not really my thing, especially when I’m with my daughter. But today we got there around 5:30 p.m., because I knew how busy the park would get, and sure enough, it got really crowded. Luckily, we managed to buy the tickets before a huge line formed; each ticket cost $1.50.

​Ella tuvo la oportunidad de montarse en varias cosas. A pesar de que había cola en todos los juegos y otros que no le gustaban tanto, se montó en las sillas voladoras, que ya no son para niños pequeños sino para más grandes. Al principio pensé que le daría un poco de miedo, pero hoy andamos con una Sophia valiente, una Sophia que logró vencer sus miedos. Incluso se montó hasta en "el gusanito", que es una de las atracciones que quizás le podía dar más temor.

She had the chance to ride on several rides. Even though there were lines at every ride and some she didn’t like as much, she rode the flying chairs, which aren’t for little kids anymore but for older ones. At first I thought she might be a little scared, but today we’re seeing a brave Sophia—a Sophia who managed to overcome her fears. She even rode “the little worm,” which is one of the rides that might have scared her the most.

​En medio de la espera para montarse, hablé con una de las niñas que era más grande que ella y, muy amablemente, se montó con ella. Como cereza del pastel para concluir la noche, nos conseguimos a sus hermanos, que son dos niños preciosos, pero aún están chiquitos y son algo intranquilos. Logramos que se montaran los tres en una de las atracciones de tazas giratorias para niños pequeños; lograron divertirse mucho.

While we were waiting to get on the ride, I spoke to one of the girls who was older than her, and she very kindly let her ride with her. As the icing on the cake to wrap up the night, we met her brothers—two adorable little boys, though they’re still quite young and a bit restless. We managed to get all three of them on one of the spinning teacup rides for young children; they had a blast.

​Luego nos fuimos a ver más animales y terminamos cenando hamburguesas. Ya después de eso, casi que queríamos salir corriendo porque la cantidad de personas era abrumadora. Sin embargo, puedo decir que, gracias a Dios, pasamos una tarde bastante bonita. Sophia pudo disfrutar, divertirse, encontrarse con sus hermanos y, además, cenamos algo distinto y sabroso.

Then we went to see more animals and ended up having hamburgers for dinner. After that, we almost wanted to run away because the crowd was overwhelming. Still, I can say that, thank goodness, we had a really nice afternoon. Sophia got to enjoy herself, have fun, and catch up with her siblings, and we also had a different and tasty dinner.
