MY LOVE LANGUAGE

Hello guys! I am sure everyone of us had a wonderful working week. I am happy to be participating in this week's prompt.

We all give and receive love differently. What would you say is your love language as an individual? Do actions speak louder than words for you? Do gifts hold special meaning? Perhaps quality time or physical touch are more important.

Everyone has their own way of showing love, some people prefer gifts, some prefer actions and words, other prefer spending time with the one they love. I think as we grow we tend to understand and show love differently.

When I was younger, I mean secondary school there was this class mate of mine he liked me and I liked him, he would do anything for me. Always bought gifts, buys things during break time for me to eat and all sha, I always appreciated it and I thought to myself we will be together and marry and have kids😂. By the time I gained admission into the university, my thinking changed. I was no longer after material things, I saw them as nothing.

Now when it comes to showing love and affection, I prefer to spend quality time with the one I love, he should always be with me and I with him. When I say he should be with me always doesn't mean we should not go about our activities, but we will always create time for each other. Someone just using words to tell me 'I love you' doesn't really mean much to me, show me you love me with your actions, let me see that you love me.

Gifts can be meaningful too, but they're not my primary love language. It's not about the value of the gift, but the thought behind it. A small, thoughtful gift can mean more to me than something expensive. It shows that the person took the time to think about me and what I might like.

We all have different ways of giving and receiving love, but understanding our own love language can help us communicate better with others. For me quality time and actions are important. Spending time together and doing things to show you care mean the world to me. Gifts are nice but it's the thought and effort behind them that matter.
