Boredom and ways I overcome it.

Boredom is said to be the state of losing interest in activities one engage in.
The state of feeling less enthusiastic about an activity.
We often get bored as humans especially when we partake in same events over and over again, variety is the spice of life.

Even when we engage in conversations that lasts beyond necessary it might become uninteresting and by so doing we get bored.
However there are practical ways I get rid of boredom.

First and foremost, I identify the cause and then tackle it.

For example, engaging in thesame activity over a long period of time gets me bored so how I overcome this is to do those same activities differently.
Whenever I resume at work each day, I don't just repeat thesame routine activity, rather I choose to do my work in a different way though I am achieving thesame result. This helps me enjoy my work and I find it easier to put in my best.

Secondly, idleness leads to boredom for me, so I engage in activities that keep me busy like playing of games and reading an interesting novel or book. This involves me engaging mentally. Games that will have me crack my brain and books that will leave me meditating on each chapter, creating a mental picture gets me busy and by so doing wards off boredom.

Thirdly, loneliness gets me bored. In overcoming this, I reach out to one or two friends or family members, have a good chat and laugh. I also listen to seasoned teachers/preachers, I put on my earpiece, play a particular teaching I find interesting and savour it's content.
Also, when lonely and bored I sleep, sleeping helps me a lot, when I wake up, I would probably be hungry, so I will be busy fixing something to eat. Engaging in an interesting activity have a way of warding off boredom.

Lastly, I take a walk to avoid boredom, I step out, walk down the road, most times I go to a football pitch close to my house and just watch people play football, cheer up the players, have a good laugh. I get to see different people doing different things. I tend to savour the fresh air of the environment and when it's evening, I go home reminiscing on the activity of the day.

We all go through boredom at one point or the other in our lives but overcoming it begins with identifying it's cause and tackling it.
