Celebrating Children's Day in grand style

Children are a blessing to the world, a delight to the parents and everyone around them; they're one of the major ingredients that give life meaning, and today I'm glad to celebrate every child around the world and those around me on this special day of theirs. It's Children's Day, and I'll love to share some of my experience with y'all.

Children's Day today started off with me going to work to escort some of our students to an event our school was invited to that aimed to celebrate children and also promote education among children around the globe. On getting to work, each of the students came through, and we took a photo of them before leaving for the location of the event.

There were loads of activities at the location, and I was so carried away to the point where I literally forgot to document the program in the form of pictures, but then it revolved around lectures, music, educational games, and contests between schools; ours came in third among the about 16 schools invited, and above is a photo of the students and some of the gifts we were given at the event; each student was also given a special take-home package.

Heading home, I decided to pay a visit to my aunt, whom I'm sure most of her grandchildren will visit since it's Children's Day. I brought some snacks alongside the package I was given at the event, and getting home, I gave each of them my little piece to celebrate them on this special day. They were excited to see me, and so am I.

One walked up to me and asked that I help her tie her teddy neatly to her back because she's going to work and won't want to leave her baby behind. It's such a funny scenario that reminded me of when we were also very young, when I and other kids did the same, most especially the girls among us, and it's such a lovely experience to witness such a thing that is still invoked to this day.

Heading into the passage, I saw another being helped by her sister to do the same. I just smiled and moved past them. Such an act or play is one we performed as children, where we acted as though we were family, where someone acted as the father, another as the mother, and so on. I can't really remember much about it, but watching them let the memories flood back in, and I couldn't help but laugh at how a child at a tender age is already dreaming of being a mother herself with a teddy bear as the baby.

It was a delightful day, and I enjoyed myself with young ones; indeed, children are a blessing to the world. Happy Children's Day to all children around the world.
