Creative Sunday || Making simple palm slippers

Good day everyone! It's another lovely Sunday, and that means another round of creative Sunday where people get to show the creative side of theirs. I've seen a lot of it today, and I'm glad to learn from each person's talent and skills, so I'll also love to share a tutorial of my own skills on how I made these palm slippers.

This is a pair of palm slippers I decided to just make, not because a customer asked for them, but to just make something simple and easy to move around with, and I'm here to share the tutorial with the hope that it'll come in handy when someone decides to make one in the near future.

Items Used

  • Black leather
  • Black lining
  • Oci gum
  • Sewing machine
  • Nora(outsole)
  • Maco size 4 (insole)
  • Shoe wet

Making process

  • To make this simple palm slippers, I just need to first cut all the black leather into the desired shape I want with my scissor.

I join it to a lining and sew it together with my sewing machine.

Proceeding with the palm slipper, I cut the maco with my scissor and placed the lining on it and join the design of the shoe upper to it.

For the insole and outsole, I cut the maco and the Nora to the appropriate Shape, I rub gum around the Nora and attached the shoe wet around all it edges.

After attaching the wet, I put more gum on the Nora and the maco, then I left it yo dry for few minutes, after which I join both together, in other to make it firm and perfect, I also added some super glue.

After joining it, I had to hit it with an hammer gently to round up and make sure it's in good shape and here is the finishing look of the simple palm slippers.

Thanks you for your time, I hope you enjoy the read, stay bless till we meet for another section of creative Sunday next week.

Another soft work from my boss, if this was as easy as you have explained then making palms would have been the easiest thing to do in the world.

I don't mind getting one, I admire the hard work and creativity you have put into creating this. Good job sire.

It's much more the same, the only thing is that you'll need to fix an elastic band at the back, else it'll fall off.

Hmmm so were will you get the foot pad? Do they sell it or....?

No, you'll have to cut that by yourself with a Nora, since it's a child, the shape won't be available but you can always build a pad by yourself.
