Hello Hive

How I wish the holiday continues, as I've not seems to get enough of the time spent with my family and friends during the course of the holiday, and neither do I feel like I've got enough rest.

But as it's stated in the Bible that "He who doesn't work do not deserve to eat" according to 2 Thessalonians 3:10, it's also commonly said here that "no food for a lazy man". And that's true, even those who have set up investment in different fields like crypto, real estate and co have at one point or another put in enough effort, before they can now sit back to eat the fruit of their labour (as their investment bring in more income).

So in that spirit I dashed out to the market to buy some food stuffs and other necessities I might be needing once I resume back to work, I'm a teacher and my place of work is located in the outskirt of Ilorin, in the a rural village that's far from civilization, where you have to spend about 2hours driving just to locate the nearest big ultilty store.

So to avoid that, before traveling to the village, I visited the neighboring stores around me, to buy some food stuffs and snacks like biscuits and co, as a man, I don't really like cooking, but in as much as I'm still single I've got no choice, and whenever I'm not in the mood to cook, I end up eating different snacks and biscuits as breakfast or dinner.

I hope you won't be wondering why I ommited lunch from my eating routine!, Well if you're, it's not far fetch, with the situation of the country inflation and hike in price, not everyone can afford 3 square meal again, though I can easily afford it, but I prefer to use the money for other stuffs.

My walk around the neighborhood to purchase the items I needed was direct and straight forward as am not in company of my mom this time around, neither did I have time in deliberating or negotiating the
Price of each item.

Smile, guess I should look at the positive aspects as well, being privilege to celebrate with family is something I don't take for granted, because during last year's Christmas, I had to celebrate all alone due to the distance and Covid regulations then.

I wish you a happy new year filled with lot of joy, and fulfillment of plans and purpose.

Thanks for your well wishes, have a pleasant day as well and thanks for the 🍕 and love tip.

Much love from Nigeria.

How nice that you got to spend this year with your family! With so much COVID still around, I was even happier to hear this. Do you live in the outskirts of Ilorin or do you travel to get to school every day? I make bigger batches of things that can have multi-use, a whole chicken that can be made into several meals. That is a very honorable profession. How old are these kids you teach? Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see so many participating every week. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for it. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the New Year finds you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:
