MY FIRST EARNING

avatar

I've been integrated into trade/business at a very tender age, I can remember I've been hawking around the street of Lagos as at when I was in primary school, and I've sold items like broom, Footwear's, food items and the likes, which open my mind to the important and rewards gotten from being involve in business.

Though I could have easily tag that as my first earning or first meaning of Income, since I got to sell some items beyond the amount I was told to sell them, and such interest belongs to me, but most of those funds were spent on pretty things like snacks and co before I head back home, because my guidance always presume all the money I've on me belong to her.

And the hawking continue for several years till I was of finish my junior secondary school.

After my junior secondary school, my guardian fail to enroll me into a school and instead took me to a floor mill industry where I was paid 20,000 naira per month, this is a huge money for a boy of my age or my education grade in my country, but despite that, I couldn't get a dime from that job for myself, despite working there for a whole year, it happen that my guardian has an agreement with the manage and my salary goes directly to her, and in return she said I get to eat and have shelter for free.

That's a very lame excuse because the guardian happens to my my aunt.

So if I'm to talk about my first earning, where I get to have the money to my self and do what ever places me with it, then it's definitely gonna be when we move from Lagos state to Ogun state, and the environment been a bushy and new site, I usually move around the Community and whenever I saw someone who just brought a land, I and my friend will approach them, and let them know such in case they needed someone to help them clear the grass's on their farmland, they should contact us.

I could remember the first job we got was a plot of land, that needed to be cleared, and after meeting with the owner of the piece of land, we told him it'll cost him 8,000 naira, and after much bargain he paid us 4,000 naira, and the clearing took us 2days before we get finish clearing the grass's with cutlass.

And after that project, that was how I and my friend started clearing site for new land owners in the community.

My share of the money we got from the first project was spend on drugs because I fell sick some days after we got through with it, but after that, I got accustom to it and most of the money were use to purchase school test books, and the remaining spent on stuffs like cloth, school bags, snacks and the like.

That's all about my first earning, thanks so much for checking out my blog post, have a blessed week ahead.

Yea, that's how I was brought up, and though it was like a punishment and unfair, it as gone a long way in brooding the man I've become.

Your Aunt did not do well at all, dat was unfair but then, it's now in the past, you were indirectly working for her without tasting the money that comes from your own sweat all in the name of shelter and feeding🤔

Well, glad you later found anoda job for yourself after your relocation.
Indeed hard work pays

It was really annoying then, but it's now and the pass, and in the end what seems like an unfair punishment, is now a blessing in disguise, brooding the man I became and how I deal with work and other stuff.

Sorry to say, but your aunt harsh oo, she could have at least give you part of the money, it's not easy for someone to work (hustle) all day for a whole year and then someone else takes the reward...

Anyways, what doesn't kill you make you stronger. I believe you're now
better, wiser and stronger.
