My Untamed Mouth Got me into Countless Trouble in High School

This edition of the community featured topic got me reminesing on my high school days, which flood in memories of the good old days, though some may seem not too pleasant, but going over it now make me laugh at myself, for getting involve those mischievous/embarrassing act am about to share with you.

I've always been reserve from onset, in fact I mostly keep to myself, mingle with few people, but despite this angelic act of mine, my mouth was my biggest weakness, it tend to get me into trouble every now and then, though I was gentle, but I don't tolerate insult or bullying, even though I'm defenceless against this mighty bully who could lift me up with one finger, my mouth is as sharp as a razor blade, always ready to speak ill of anyone who cross my lean with the aim of bullying me or those around me.

Yes I was tall and we'll build for my age, but everyone in my school knows am just like a puppet that can be toss around the way you like once it comes to physical fight, so I tend to runaway at every slit possibility of fight erupting, but when it comes to war of the mouth, no one can champion me, here are two scenarios of how my mouth got me into trouble in my high school days.

• JUNGLE JUSTICES

It's was our first month in high school, and most of us were just trying to get to know eachother, some where fortunate to graduate from the same primary school, so mingling wasn't hard for such people, but there's this attitude of the senior students that got me boiling within since I got admitted into the school.

Once it's time for break, it's common to see the senior students rushing to our class room so they can sent we new students on an errand to help them purchase stuffs from the school cafeteria, you might be wondering why this annoys me, well it's no other reason than the fact that their classes are more closer to the cafeteria than ours, but because they want to claim seniority, they leave their classes and rather than go to the cafeteria themselves, they'll walk several blocks to our class.

I was lucky not to be among those that were send on such errand until one faithful day, when a guy and his friend pointed to me that I should go and help them buy some snacks, like African salad, meat pie and ice cream, I took the money with anger and went to the cafeteria to purchase the item, on my way back to the classroom to deliver what they send me, I decided to watch the football match being played on our school pitch, and before I knew it, I've entertained myself with the items they sent me while watching the match, I totally forgot someone sent me somewhere and didn't know how long I was at the pitch, until I saw two gallant senior boys running towards me with anger in their faces.

I immediately came back to my senses, I ran as fast as my leg could take me to my uncles office, who happen to be a teacher in the school, I greeted him and did as if nothing happened, as I stood behind him while he work on his desktop computer, few seconds later the senior students ran in, and apologize upon seeing my uncle, they lied that we were friends, and ask me to join them, which I refuse, they then said we'll meet later in the jungle before they left his office.

Immediately the bell was jingled for the end of break, I went to my classroom, and by closing hour, when I was on my way home, the senior students kept to their promise, by waiting for me along the quite path, they beat me silly and promise to continue every day until I return their money, I went home and lied about a need to pay a certain amount, which I then use in settling the seniors, I also threaten to inform my uncle if they ever come near me again, and that was the last time any senior students ever come to me when sending my colleague on an errand.

• HUMILIATION OF THE HIGHEST OTHER

During my Junior secondary class 3, I got involved in a war of words with a female classmates, who stole my friend notebook, and despite being catch red-handed, she still has the gut to speak and as well abuse my friend, this got me annoyed, so I pick on her in defence of my friend.

I think I said something that really got her angry, because what I saw after that words was her charging towards me with punches and slaps, but this didn't stop me from abusing her, until she angrily remove my belt from my trouser and flog me mercilessly with it😂, I cried like a baby to the point where everyone make me a laughing stock including the friend I was defending.

The school authority got to hear about it, and we(the girl, my friend and I) were punished publicly during the closing assembly, but that wasn't after some teachers find the funny parts in how she removed my belt and flogged me with it.

Truly that got me angry then, but reminesing over it now, I think if I were to be the teacher, I'll do the same, cause it seems impossible that a short little girl, will beat a tall and gallant young boy of her age.

Well that scenario taught me a lesson, right there and then I vow never to get involve in anything fight related nor abusing anyone, and this as overtime help me tame my tongue and as well mind my business.
