The champions of Europe

Manchester City have finally laid their hands on the Champions League trophy, becoming just the 23rd team to do so. It's the first time in their history, and it also seals their spot as just the second Premier League team to win the treble after their noisy neighbor. Manchester United did it in 1999. It's a joyful day in the city side of Manchester, and I'm certain the party celebration will go on for awhile.

Though I'm not a city fan, I'm excited for them. As someone who admires Gradiola and his Barcelona connection, he has also set some records himself, as he has now led two different teams to winning the treble, first with Barcelona. He has also become one of the coaches who've won the most champions, with three, just one behind the number one coach, Ancelotti, who has won four.

City have been exceptional this season, starting with the league win. Few would have thought they'd catch up with Arsenal, and yet they did in style. They did and still won the FA Cup, and now they're the winners of the Champions League. It's one of their biggest dreams, and now I'm sure they're fulfilled, but that'll only make them more hungry and aspire for more.

Inter Milan and other Italian teams would be disappointed by now. It seems ridiculous that three of their teams entered all three Uefa Cup finals, and yet they bottled it all. Florentine losing to West Ham United in the conference league; Roman losing to Sevilla in the Europa League; and now Inter Milan losing to Manchester City in the Champions League.

Then this trophy as brought up the Balon d'ro prospective winner into the discussion again, many believe Haaland should be in the picture for the amount of goals he scored this season, but is Balon d'ro all about goals?Haaland has a total of 68 goals for club and country this season, while Messi has 62 goal contributions.

The 2018 season gave us an insight into some of the requirements when Modric won the award ahead of Greizeman. He won the world cup, league, and Europa and yet wasn't considered for the award; the same happened to Mbappe, but Modric won it for his general impact on his team, both club and country, because funny enough, Messi had the highest goal contribution that year and yet he only had to settle for 5th position, so let's see what this season has in store.

That's about all for today, thanks for your time, have blessed day ahead.
