Thriving Through Sports and Games: A Journey of Passion, Coaching, and Resilience

Sports and games are important recreational activities that offer physical, mental, and social benefits to everyone who indulges in them, and through the years I've been a huge fan of this aspect of life that fosters growth, healthy competition, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness, overall wellbeing, and strategic thinking that can enhance performance and effectiveness in all spheres of life.

Right from a very tender age, I've loved games and sporting activities. Even though I'm not the best at playing most of these physical games when it comes to video gaming, I thrill with it, but that doesn't mean I'm poor at physical games and exercise; to make this more glaring, I did win several medals for my school during my school days, and now that I'm an adult, I still work in this field as a game master and coach to guide young athletes to discover their inner strength to achieve their best.

Since becoming a teacher, I've come to know that our work isn't only about classroom learning; sometimes we give room for some recreational activities that help the students have an atmosphere of fun, but we still brood a culture of teamwork, resilience, confidence, and creative thinking that helps them navigate challenges, and while to them all they're doing is catching fun, simultaneously key cognitive abilities are being developed within them.

One thing I love about sports is the competition and trophies that lie ahead as a motivator to get each team going harder on the path to making their team successful, and I remember the last two inter-house competitions I've anchored as a housemaster and coach. This moment has helped me discover some exceptional students who, although they aren't doing well in their academics, when it comes to areas of sport, they're exceptional. Through this discovery, I've been able to devise better ways of relating and explaining things to them for better understanding, and that has made them improve.

As I said, medals and trophies are an encouragement, but the thing is that they can also be a form of discouragement, especially if not well handled. I remember the very first time I was given the role of house master in an inter-house sports competition. My team didn't win any of the medals, and we came last. I was disappointed, but so were the students; they were down and dejected.

But I had to pick myself up, not let them see that I was also down, but to encourage them that failure is a part of life, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't give up; instead, it's an opportunity to try once again and learn from previous mistakes. We went on to approach the other competitions that followed; we went from being last to third, and the most recent one, which was held last year, came in second, showing the level of improvement and sportsmanship we've put into the game since having a taste of failure.

On the other hand, when it comes to gaming, like video games and the like, I'm an addict in this aspect, and on many occasions, I've shared my game-play experience here on the Hive Blockchain, whether it's Grant theft auto, Brothers in Arms, modern combat, or other shooter games. That's because I'm a big fan of such a genre of game.

Most times when I play these games, it's for entertainment purposes, to clear my head, to engage myself in some competitive atmosphere via the difficulties we've got in the games, and most of the time after playing, I'm always relieved, refreshed, and open-minded to face my life challenges and tasks with newfound confidence to get the job done.

Uhm, Grandpa, I can feel the passion for teaching and helping children to attain a better potential from your write up.
Those children are lucky to have someone like you and your children will also be 🙂
