South Korean Halloween Gone Wrong as a Stampede Occurs Leaving at Least 149 Dead
What should have been a joyful celebration turning to a bath of blood and a stampede causes a stir with over 149persons dead in South Korea. Now ended with a heart break as the bereaved cries their heart out in that their loved dead ones are irreplaceable.
At least 149 people, mostly teenagers and young adults in their 20s, were killed in a crush when a huge crowd celebrating Halloween surged into an alley in a nightlife area of the South Korean capital Seoul on Saturday night, emergency officials said.A further 65 people were injured in the melee in Seoul's Itaewon district, Choi Sung-beom, head of the Yongsan Fire Station, said in a briefing at the scene.source
Following the lifting of COVID-19 ban in regards to free movement,crowd gathering and space provision, this being the first Halloween after three years of total world lock down. With the ban of free movement,clubbers and party goers were suspended of their activities and fun they do have during such event. Creating a sphere of balance in social life, the Halloween came at a long but expected time as the whole place was immensely crowded following the putting on of costumes associated to the Halloween festival.
