Habemus Internet!!!! || #MyConnectionProblems
Finally I have Internet!!
This will be a short post just to celebrate, to mark the occasion, is late here 12.31 am but I needed to do this post to just share the awesome news if you haven't read my last post (why? go read it here) I talk about my connection issues, I have expended the last few years using my phone as a modem, first, my internet service was delivered by the government run CANTV, I to this day don't know why it wasn't working right, then some lovely people decided to steal the cord on the main street leaving a major portion of our sector without internet service at all, this was over
2 years ago, and yeah I by now have lost all hope the internet company will come to fix the issue.
So, I have been using my phone as a modem using my data plan for this, the data plan I have is only 10 Gb a month. So, this means I always endup paying way more cause I consume over the 10GB. The issue with this was actually not the fact that it was getting expensive, cause to be honest, the monetization from my posts, help cover the costs, but... the mobile signal provider has been having issues in my town too, I went from being able to connect during the day to do basic stuff and have better signal in the midnight, to only being able to connect during midnight cause during the day the connection was HORRIBLE, like not even Whatsapp messages were leaving quickly
This frustrated me so bad, I almost stopped posting completly, actually, I had to even stop curating content in my community (motherhood we got help from the awesome @jcrodriguez), I was desperate to find a solution.
In comes the signal amplifier
Ok, so as I said before, I looked around, asked every body that I know and even when to a few shops here to ask the managers what internet provider did they had, to see if I could some how find a solution to my connection issues, I didn found a single provider that offered the service close enough to my house, I live in Jumanji.
So I did my research and endup buying a mobile signal amplifier, this is a LTE / 4G single band amplifier, that costed me 150$ + shippement and it took 5 days to get to my house, My boyfriend installed yesterday, i was sooooo excited to finally being able to have something to help me improve my connection!
🤡 <- my clown face after seeing that even tho the signal did improved, we still didn't got any better data, it was a bit better but not enough to actually allow me to connect to a web site and even less to justifed the cost.
BUT!!!! We finally found a internet provider!!
As I said, I have talked and asked every single leaving being in the town about an internet provider, in comes my brother-in-law from another town to talk to us about this new internet company that is working in our town!
I called, and they said the cost was 350$ for the installation + 40$ the monthly service, I THANK ALL THE GODS I have a power down in place right now, (will talk more about this in future posts) and said YES COME PLEASE INSTALL THE THING!
Now here I am, with INTERNET!!!! finally, after all this time, I think almost 4 years in total since the last time I actually had an unlimited internet connection.
Is it perfect?
Nope is Venezuela and well the internet providers here are not the best, but I HAVE INTERNET!!! I will be able to connect during the day and actually go back to posting and doing my job without having to stay up at night and be a zombie the next day!
I actually want to cry from the happiness this means soooooo much to me, I will leave this post here and will do more in deep about the service, specifications, and all tomorrow.
P.D. I talked to the guy who sold me the amplifier and he told me I need to put the antenna much higher (currently 3mts) from the ground up at least 10Mts for it to work better, will try this when I find a how to get it that high up, cause 1. it was too expensive a LOT for me not to use it and 2. is better to have it in case the internet goes for any given reason.

Yeah, I remember the last post of yours where you told about the struggles you have had with your internet. That's a suffering for someone who has a lot to do online.
It is good to hear that you find a solution and finally you would be able to connect to the online world joyfully.
I wish the amplifier also do work. 150$ is quite a high price.

Thanks god you've got internet back. This is one of the worst things about living. In Venezuela an being a content creator. It sucks, royally! And to add insult to injury the goons at CANTV are there just to say the same crap over and over again without moving a finger to solve the problem.
It might not be the perfect connection, but it works. That's a plus!

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII chama hasta pude verificar el paypal jajajajaja antes no me cargaba bien la pagina y por eso no lo habia podido hacer pero hasta eso! ahora si podre dar clases bien!
Yo tengo en casa CANTV y bueno ese servicio está cada vez peor, cuando comencé en HIVE estuvimos 6 mees sin servicio y al igual que tú usaba mis datos para poder publicar, actualmente hay una empresa que presta servicio de internet, un vecino contrato el servicio y me dice que la va bien, hay horas en las que se pone un poco lento, tal vez por la distribución del ancho de banda, pero me dice que hasta ahora le va mejor que con la operadora nacional, así que más adelante tendré que hacer el esfuerzo por centrarlos, hay que verlo como una inversión.
Finalmente, ¡felicidades!, sé lo que estar sin servicio, trabajando con datos y que también la señal de la operadora se ponga insufrible, ahora todo cambiará y para mejor
gracias!! y si yo de pana me di por vencida con CANTV por estos lados, mi hermana tiene el servicio en su casa en Valencia y bueno obviamente podria ser mejor pero a ella si le funciona bien, pero por estos lados del mundo con mas de 1 año sin cable no creo realmente lo repongan asi que me dolio pagar tanto pero mejor eso que no poder producir más.

Hi @victoriabsb, it's a pleasure to greet you again. If you allow me to contribute, I could also say that there are people outside Venezuela who think that these are pure exaggerations, they find it hard to believe that a country "rich in resources" is in the impossibility of sustaining a service that should and is normally implemented everywhere, lately even in Antarctica it is possible to have internet connectivity. Thanks for your good post, I enjoyed it.
el que tengamos los recursos no quiere decir que los administremos bien esa es la respuesta que se le debe dar a los que digan eso.
