A Day of Tech Service in the Barangay

There was a time where we were assigned to fix some of the computers in one of the barangays here in the place because they requested some of their computers were broken or not yet fix.

So, while they requested to install some of the OS, we were assigned to get into their place and install their OS and it was one of the best experience that I went outside in a work.

The place that we went called Dumingag and that's a neighboring place near to our work. I think it only takes 20-30 minutes of travelling while going there so, we ride my colleagues motor on going there.

We went there as early as 8 in the morning so that we can finish as early as we could and yeah, after we arrived at the place, there was a person that cater us and guide us to where the units were located.

After we arrived, we were astonished to see the setup and it's an awesome setup that we saw but the main problem was that, there were some units that cannot opened maybe because there was problem with the unit itself or the wires that were connected to the unit.

They requested to upgrade their operating system (OS) from windows 10 to windows 11. We brought the stickers with us for the windows 11 but there was a sad news, they have no internet connection or LAN wires that connected to these units and they are needed to upgrade from windows 10 OS to windows 11 unit.

So, we will need a new plan on how to upgrade these units from windows 10 to windows 11 without using LAN. There was a wi-fi dongle that can connect to a wi-fi from other wi-fi connections and wi-fi dongle fits on upgrading the units.

So, there were a total of 14 units and we only have one wi-fi dongle. When upgrading the units, it takes for about an hour to upgrade it. We need a couple of this wi-fi dongle to finished these units quickly.

Then, an idea struck our head that we have wi-fi dongle in our company and we will used those wi-fi dongle so that we can finished as early as we could. We call our supervisor about this and luckily they brought another colleague to bring the wi-fi dongle.

So, instead of one wi-fi dongle, we have now three wi-fi dongle but there was problem, the wi-fi dongle that our colleague brought was a low end wi-fi dongle and it takes a long time to upgrade just one unit while the wi-fi dongle that provided by the barangay was very fast and it only takes a little time to consume just to upgrade a unit.

While we were waiting for the upgrades, we were talking about anything around the place and stuffs. Sometimes, we use our phones to browse into the internet and yeah, it was another not-so-lucky experience going here.

But thankfully, we finished on time before 5 in the afternoon because that's the time that they were finished in their work.
