Hoy comparto con ustedes mi visita a la calle Sucre, que forma parte del, centro histórico (casco histórico cultural) de la ciudad de Cumaná, caracterizado por transversales angostas, con casas muy amplias llamadas "casonas" las cuales destacan por sus amplios ventanales de hierro y madera, puertas anchas de madera gruesa, techos altos y en forma cónica, pinturas coloridas, además relieves y esculturas en sus paredes que las hacen muy llamativas y atractivas, en este sector se encuentran importantes oficinas del Gobierno Regional; como la oficina de Turismo Municipal y Estadal, también importantes sitios históricos de la ciudad entre ellos la Galería Red de Arte, Castillo Santa María de la Cabeza, iglesia Santa Inés e importantes casas coloniales que forman parte importante de la historia y cultura del Estado.
Today I share with you my visit to Sucre Street, which is part of the historic center (cultural historical center) of the city of Cumana, characterized by narrow cross streets, with very spacious houses called "casonas" which stand out for their large windows of iron and wood, wide doors of thick wood, high ceilings and conical shaped, colorful paintings, also reliefs and sculptures on the walls that make them very striking and attractive, in this sector are important offices of the Regional Government; In this sector are located important offices of the Regional Government, such as the Municipal and State Tourism office, also important historical sites of the city, among them the Red de Arte Gallery, Santa María de la Cabeza Castle, Santa Inés Church and important colonial houses that are an important part of the history and culture of the State.
El casco histórico es un lugar de gran valor cultural para la ciudad en él se realizan las llamadas "Noches de Antaño" , un evento histórico cultural para remembrar la fundación de la ciudad, haciendo énfasis en los aspectos históricos, sociales y culturales de la época colonial, para ello se disponen una serie de tarimas en dicho sector donde se realizan exhibiciones , exposiciones y obras de teatro alusivas a esta época , es u evento de entretenimiento y diversión para la familia (que se celebra del 27 al 30 de noviembre).

La iglesia Santa Inés, forma parte de la arquitectura colonial venezolana y además es patrimonio cultural del estado Sucre, dada la geología sísmica del estado y los fuertes terremotos que han causado daños en su estructura ha sufrido varias modificaciones pero siempre conservando el estilo clásico colonial, según varios pobladores de la zona esta iglesia guarda muchos secretos, entre ellos un túnel que comunica al Castillo (San Antonio de la Eminencia, ubicado en la parte más alta de la ciudad) con la iglesia, en el cual existen varias catacumbas.

Su construcción data del siglo XVII, y tiene dos torres con terminaciones en cúpulas, campanarios en estas torres, cuyas campanas suenan cada hora anunciando el avance del día, ventanas con hermosos vitrales, en la parte central también posee una cúpula más grande que las anteriores, además una oficina parroquial en la parte trasera izquierda y un pequeño Bulevar donde puedes descansar y contemplar el paisaje , en el lado derecha se ubica el Castillo de las Siete Cabezas, las visitas este castillo están prohibidas porque están haciendo importantes reparaciones en la estructura.

En la parte frontal tiene varias columnas que sostienen las torres, 3 puertas en forma de arco, detrás de estas 3 puertas en forma de rectángulo, de estas la centro es más grande que las de los lados derecho e izquierdo, las ventanas son rectangulares con terminaciones en arco, en las torres hay varios relojes y campanas en cada una de ellas, durante mi visita estaban limpiando por lo cual no pude observar la parte interna, este sector de la ciudad es muy visitado dada su ubicación y la existencia de diversas oficinas en la zona, además la iglesia recibe constantemente feligreses.

Saludos @kattycrochet, sabes? me extrañé cuando vi la iglesia de ese color, tenía varios años sin pasar por allí, la penúltima vez que fui estaba haciendo una diligencia en el colegio Hogar Azul, y esta semana me llevé una sorpresa, el color de la iglesia y el colegio los cambiaron; la ciudad de Cumaná tiene hermosos lugares históricos para visitar, me alegra haber traído buenos recuerdos a tu memoria.
Me imagino tomaste esa foto hace 2 o 3 años, creo que ese era el tiempo que tenía sin visitar la calle Sucre y estaba pintada de color azul, con el amarillo el contraste del paisaje es totalmente diferente.
