Continuando con mi recorrido por la península de Paria, quiero compartirles el viaje por la carretera nacional que conecta Carúpano con El Rincón. El Rincón es un hermoso pueblo situado al pie de las montañas, en el municipio Benítez. Por su parte, Carúpano destaca por sus impresionantes playas, que se dejan ver apenas se entra a la ciudad. A poca distancia por la carretera, se encuentra "El Boquete", un agradable mirador que cuenta con bancos, murales y mucho espacio para quienes disfrutan de los paisajes naturales y de la playa. Tras recorrer unos kilómetros más, se llega a El Rincón, donde un colorido mural da la bienvenida a los visitantes; las letras que forman el nombre del pueblo incluyen ilustraciones de cultivos locales, actividades culturales, arquitectura y atractivos turísticos. Situado cerca del puente, el mural está iluminado con luces LED, mientras que las plantas de plátano y las palmeras del fondo aportan un toque agrícola a esta llamativa obra de arte. Dado el carácter agrícola de la zona, es habitual ver casas o cobertizos a lo largo de la ruta destinados al secado del cacao, así como abundante vegetación y cultivos en los patios de las viviendas.
Continuing my tour of the Paria peninsula, I’d like to share a journey along the national highway connecting Carúpano to El Rincón. El Rincón is a beautiful town nestled at the foot of the mountains in the Benítez municipality. Carúpano itself is notable for its stunning beaches, which come into view as soon as you enter the city. A short distance along the road, you encounter "El Boquete," a lovely lookout point featuring benches, murals, and plenty of space for those who appreciate natural scenery and the beach. Traveling a few more kilometers brings you to El Rincón, where a colorful mural welcomes visitors; the letters of the town's name feature illustrations of local crops, cultural activities, architecture, and tourist attractions. Located near the bridge, the mural is illuminated by LED lights, while plantain trees and palms in the background lend an agricultural touch to the striking artwork. Given the area's agricultural character, it is common to see houses or sheds along the route used for drying cacao, as well as abundant vegetation and crops growing in residential yards.
Al continuar por la ruta, volvemos a ver la espesa vegetación que caracteriza a este pueblo; con la llegada de las lluvias, el paisaje luce exuberante y denso, poblado de arbustos, hierbas y árboles. La mayoría de las casas cuentan con sus propios cultivos, y también se pueden apreciar los pequeños refugios o paradas donde la gente espera el transporte. Se disfruta de una hermosa vista de la montaña rodeada de abundante verdor; esta zona es rica en plantas de cacao, plataneras y ceibas, entre otras especies. As we continue along the route, we once again see the thick vegetation that characterizes this village; with the arrival of the rains, the landscape is lush and dense, featuring shrubs, grasses, and trees. Most homes have their own crops, and one can also spot the small shelters or stops where people wait for transport. There is a lovely view of the mountain surrounded by abundant greenery; this area is rich in cacao plants, banana trees, and ceibas, among others. It was a delightful morning journey, with a clear sky and beautiful clouds adorning it. Thanks for joining me on this adventure.
