Visita al emblemático "Parque Ayacucho" Cumaná [Esp-Eng]
En esta ocasión comparto mi visitas al Parque Ayacucho, situado en el centro de la ciudad, entre la avenida Humboldt y la calle Cedeño. El parque constituye un complejo cultural que cuenta con áreas recreativas, una plaza y un museo; espacios todos ellos donde se desarrollan diversas actividades. En la entrada —a la que se llega desde el puente Mariño— se encuentra la plaza Sucre; el suelo está pavimentado con granito y, al ingresar, se aprecia una estatua ecuestre de Antonio José de Sucre. La estatua se alza sobre un pedestal rectangular dividido en cuatro secciones que exhiben los escudos de los países liberados por Bolívar y Sucre, la fecha de nacimiento del héroe, el escudo de Venezuela y el año de creación de la escultura.
El parque también dispone de zonas recreativas infantiles —que incluyen columpios, un subibaja y un laberinto— ubicadas a orillas del río Manzanares. Los bancos y la variedad de árboles conforman un entorno natural junto al río; de hecho, la abundante vegetación es un rasgo distintivo del parque, donde las palmeras, las plantas ornamentales y los grandes árboles crean un ambiente agradable. Detrás de la estatua se encuentra una fuente circular de tonos dorados y azules, rodeada de plantas, bancos y senderos de granito. Más atrás se alza el Museo Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, un edificio de marcado estilo colonial donde los visitantes pueden conocer la vida de Antonio José de Sucre y la historia de Cumaná, además de contemplar pinturas y esculturas de destacados artistas regionales, entre otras exposiciones. Here, I share my visits to Ayacucho Park, located in the city center between Humboldt Avenue and Cedeño Street. The park is a cultural complex featuring recreational areas, a plaza, and a museum—spaces that host a variety of activities. At the entrance—approached from the Mariño Bridge—lies Sucre Plaza; the ground is paved with granite, and upon entering, one sees an equestrian statue of Antonio José de Sucre. The statue rests on a rectangular pedestal divided into four sections, displaying the coats of arms of the countries liberated by Bolívar and Sucre, the hero's birth date, the Venezuelan coat of arms, and the year the sculpture was created.
The park also offers recreational areas for children—including swings, a seesaw, and a maze—situated along the banks of the Manzanares River. Benches and various trees create a natural setting alongside the river; indeed, abundant vegetation is a defining feature of the park, with palm trees, ornamental plants, and large trees creating a pleasant atmosphere. Behind the statue stands a circular fountain in gold and blue, surrounded by plants, benches, and granite walkways. Further back lies the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Museum, a building with a distinct colonial style where visitors can learn about the life of Antonio José de Sucre, the history of Cumaná, and view paintings and sculptures by prominent regional artists, among other exhibits. The rear of the Sucre statue displays the coats of arms of various South American countries; a side view reveals the year the monument was commissioned by the state government, while the front view displays the Venezuelan coat of arms.
Tras recorrer el parque y sus diversas áreas, me dirigí hacia el río Manzanares por la calle Mariño; la vista es encantadora y permite apreciar los árboles que bordean la ribera, parte del puente y la gran arboleda que rodea el río. Un sendero de granito discurre junto al parque, conduciendo a la orilla y extendiéndose hasta la pista de patinaje situada en el extremo opuesto.
La presencia del río Manzanares junto al parque Ayacucho crea un entorno hermoso y acogedor; el cauce está flanqueado por senderos, muros de contención y grandes árboles. En la parte posterior —muy cerca de la pista de patinaje— hay más árboles y una zona abierta resultante del dragado del río realizado el mes pasado. Esta área del parque también cuenta con numerosas palmeras y especies como el Apamate y el Flamboyán, entre otras, que destacan por sus coloridas floraciones. Desde el puente se puede contemplar el curso del río y la vegetación circundante, elementos que se combinan para formar un paisaje hermoso.
After touring the park and its various areas, I headed toward the Manzanares River along Mariño Street; the view is lovely, offering sights of the trees lining the riverbank, part of the bridge, and the large trees surrounding the river. A granite walkway runs alongside the park, leading to the riverbank and extending to the skateboard park located at the far end of the park.
The presence of the Manzanares River next to Ayacucho Park creates beautiful, charming scenery; the waterway is bordered by walkways, retaining walls, and large trees. At the rear—very close to the skateboard park—there are more trees and an open area resulting from the river dredging performed last month. This zone of the park also features many palm trees and species such as apamate and flamboyán, among others, which stand out for their colorful blossoms. From the bridge, one can view the river's course and the surrounding vegetation, which combine to form a beautiful landscape.
Los senderos de granito que conducen al extremo más alejado del parque están flanqueados por palmeras a un lado y árboles de ribera al otro; este amplio camino ofrece vistas del río Manzanares y de diversas zonas del parque. Como se aprecia en la fotografía, numerosas palmeras salpican el sendero, creando un hermoso paisaje junto a otras especies arbóreas. En el extremo opuesto se divisa la zona de patinaje —que cuenta con un mural azul y rojo—, mientras que la parte central del parque alberga la escultura de Sucre y una glorieta, rodeadas de grandes árboles de raíces singulares, más palmeras y bancos de hormigón.
Otra imagen muestra la parte posterior del museo y las palmeras que bordean el camino, al tiempo que una vista de la zona de juegos infantiles deja ver bancos, palmeras y una papelera. Gracias a su ubicación privilegiada y a sus hermosas vistas al río, el parque Ayacucho es un punto de encuentro clave en la ciudad y el escenario perfecto para eventos culturales, actividades recreativas y exposiciones. The granite walkways leading to the far end of the park are lined with palm trees on one side and riverbank trees on the other; this wide path offers views of the Manzanares River and various areas of the park. As seen in the photograph, numerous palm trees dot the trail, creating a beautiful landscape alongside other types of trees. At the far end, one can see the skateboard area—featuring a blue and red mural—while the central part of the park houses the Sucre sculpture and a roundabout, surrounded by large trees with distinctive roots, more palms, and concrete benches.
Another view shows the back of the museum and the palms lining the path, while a view of the playground reveals benches, palm trees, and a trash bin. Thanks to its prime location and beautiful river views, Ayacucho Park is a key city meeting point and the perfect setting for cultural events, recreational activities, and exhibitions. Muy bello el parque Ayacucho, sería lindo ver esa fuente nuevamente repleta de agua y luces de colores. Mi parte favorita del parque son las palmeras, aportan un gran valor al paisaje, por supuesto, junto al emblemático rio Manzanares. Saludos.
