Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Today I am sharing a charcoal illustration with you. I wanted to play with the paradox of the sunflower—stripping away its classic, vibrant yellow and bringing it into the realm of charcoal. By removing the color and focusing solely on volume, the intensity of the shadows, and the highlights, I transform the sunflower's natural optimism into something far more intimate, rustic, and melancholic. Often, beauty lies not in color, but in contrast and texture.
Hola a todos, deseo se encuentren bien. Hoy comparto con ustedes una ilustración realizada en carbonilla. Quise jugar con la paradoja del girasol: despojarlo de su clásico amarillo vibrante y llevarlo al terreno de la carbonilla, al eliminar el color y solo concentrarme en el volumen, intensidad de oscuridad y luces. Es una forma de transformar el optimismo natural del girasol en algo mucho más íntimo, rústico y melancólico. Muchas veces lo bello no está en el color, sino en los contrastes y en la textura.
