Installing New Minimalist Cabinet

Hi, Architecture+Design community...

Nowadays minimalism is the most design that people can see everywhere including at someone's home.

I bought this wardrobe from the results of weighing, do I need it or just want to buy it. On the other side, my old wardrobe is full even though I don't have many clothes. I often sort the clothes I don't wear, but my closet still feels cramped. There are still some clothes scattered outside the wardrobe and it makes it uncomfortable. I want my room layout to be neat, and for that, I finally decided to buy a new wardrobe.

Of the many minimalist wardrobe designs, I chose this wardrobe. One of the biggest motivating factors is the price which is not too expensive.

For the color variant, I chose the Sorona Oak-White variant. The color matches my workspace. Even if they won't be side by side, having cabinets in the same color is really nice.

And the crazy thing that I ever made is, I install the cabinet alone without anyone's help. It's exhausting but I found a satisfied.

This is the all elements of the cabinets. At first I wanted to ask a neighbor to install it, but my neighbor was busy so I had no other choice. I installed it myself.

Apart from the boards that you can see in the photo above, there are also different types of bolts and hinges. when I saw these bolts and hinges, I definitely gave up. Not to mention looking at the guide paper, I suddenly got dizzy. However, when I see one by one the bolts and hinges, I finally understand and can make my cabinets perfect even though a drill.

This cabinet has a material in the form of Export Quality Particle Board with dimensions of 796 X 415 X 1843 mm. If it accommodates one family's clothes, of course this wardrobe will not be enough because it is quite small. However, because this is temporary, so I prioritize cheap prices over quality functions.

After combining all the boards according to the guide paper, the next most difficult part is turning this part of the cabinet after forming a rectangle. This wardrobe is so heavy that I sweat profusely when I lift it.

Close the back. The back board is very fragile, I need to be careful when carrying it. It is divided into 3 parts and must be nailed.

Even though it looks easy, i messed up the frame because the nails didn't attach the back to the cabinet frame so i had to take the nails out and repeat it.

This is how the wardrobe looks when the back is finished. Then, install a door on each column.

This is why the manual says it takes two people to assemble this wardrobe. It's meant for this part, the door. It takes one person to hold the door leaf while the other installs the hinges. That's why I have a hard time doing it alone.

Finally I did it!

Did you know that my back is hurts so much in the next day after I installed this cabinet. But, yeah, I feel satisfied cause I did it alone.

Now my clothes are neatly arranged in the cabinet.

There is one room that I use to place my skincare.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of them are romance.

Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author.

oh good, you did a very good job. Some people can't install the cabinet even though there are instructions, for example like me.

Despite how stressful it was at first, you managed to assemble the wardrobe by yourself and I would say that the result was successful since it is well placed and did not collapse when placing the weight of the clothes.

The good thing was that motivation was stronger than ignorance and it was achieved 😄.

There's something that can't be finished well. It is about the white door, there is no key due I have no drill to make it perfect.

Thanks for the comment and reblog. I appreciate it!

Hey @viviehardika, I'm glad that you've successfully assembled that wardrobe cabinet all by yoursself. It's definitely a DIY (Do It Yourself) project in the sense of the expression! Inexpensive furniture items nowadays are pretty much packaged and installed in an Ikea-styled manner, making the entire process user-friendly and practical. Well done! 👍😊
