LET LOVE LEAD OUR COMMUNITY

1.If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. I Corinthians 13:1

Good morning brethren, welcome to my blog,
Today, I will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to explore on this topic rather than write on the initial topic that I had in mind.

Truly, love is the principal thing. Little wonder that the Bible states that

Grater love had no man to give his life for His friends.

Of course, Love is the true definition of life. You may want to remember what John recorded in Chapter 3 vs. 16 that "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

If I should try to understand the above verse, it implies that without love - Jesus, there is of course no life. This implies also that Jesus is the source of love and he is the definition of love.

Now if you pay closer attention to the Bible reference above you would notice something unique which I had over the years failed to pay attention to.

That verse states that if I speak in tongues...... yet have no love. Read that again, "but have no love", I am a nosy gong......
Does that make any meaning? Well, you should know that one thing that is noticeable about that quote is that love is actually a POSSESSION. Meaning also that people actually need to possess LOVE.

You do not inherit love, but rather possess it. So how do we possess it, it's by asking and accepting the gift of God which is Jesus Christ. No one can claim to have LOVE if he/she has not loved God or accepted Jesus Christ.

"As many as receive Him, He gave them power to become the sons of God.

If we all in the community would say that we are the children of God, then do we have love, talk more of show love to one another as Jesus had admonished us to love our neighbours and pray for those that persecute us. Indeed anyone that has no love will find it difficult to give it out because as the popular saying goes, "you can't give what you don't have. But I will say otherwise that you can't give out what you don't own.

So how do we know that we have love?

The attributes of love is seen in the following: patience, kindness, foriving and forbearing etc.

Once you see that you do not have this, you need to strive to ask to possess the LOVE of Christ.

Beloved brethren, we need to pray for God's grace to help us love one another in this community. To seek to know one another, to love each other, to be patient with one another.

I am still trying to understand why the heart symbol was used to design the logo of this community, but I am sure that there a deep divine insight to this. For today, I may not have the luxury of time for this.

But I will admonish us to reflect on this last verse of the scripture and the words that Jesus taught us that we should not only love, be patient, kind to only people that we would earn favours from or from people that are from our family or climes. We ought to be good to everyone around us, so that we would not be a victim of asking that Lord where were you that I didn't come to visit you?
