Caminando por el Monte de Santa Tegra / Walking on the Mount of Santa Tegra.
Hoy proseguiremos el Camino Portugués por la Costa. Venimos caminando desde Oporto y hoy entraremos en España.
Ha amanecido muy nublado pero, por el momento, no llueve. Ojalá se mantenga así.
Para cruzar el rio Miño y abandonar Portugal, cojemos el ferry en Carminha, donde hemos pernoctado. Una breve travesía nos lleva a España.
Desde la estación marítima, decidimos pedir un taxi para que nos suba al Monte de Santa Tegra que mide 341 metros de altitud.
Este monte es muy interesante pues fue habitado por el pueblo celta antes de que llegaran los romanos. Aquí vivieron mas de 5000 personas en el siglo IV a.c. Es decir, hace 2400 años!
Vivían en un recinto amurallado bastante ordenado y que se ha conservado bastante bien. Actualmente están realizando excavaciones y se están descubriendo castros celtas a cada momento. Sus casas eran circulares. Las paredes eran muros de piedra que se han conservado casi íntegros y se cubrían con un techo de paja.
En la cima del monte está la ermita de Santa Tegra, una mártir local. La iglesia está datada en el siglo XII e inicialmente pertenecía a la orden franciscana. Delante de la Iglesia esta el cruceiro de San Francisco que se erigió en el siglo XVI. También, estos frailes vivieron en la isla portuguesa A Ínsua que se encuentra emplazada en la confluencia del rio Miño con el océano Atlántico.
Desde la parte alta apreciamos unas excelentes vistas pero bruscamente la niebla lo tapa todo. Queda todo oculto y además, cubierto con la espesa niebla, comienza a llover muy finamente y nos empapa muy rápido.
No podemos ver más detenidamente el castro celta, así que empezamos a caminar ya que la lluvia nos está empapando. Hay que bajar rápidamente porque probablemente, en niveles inferiores a la nube no llueva.
Estamos un poco frustrados porque la nubosidad no nos permite ver la desembocadura del rio Miño. Sin embargo, bajamos por unos senderos muy hermosos a través de bosques de hayas, robles, eucaliptos y pinos.
Debemos tener cuidado y pisar sobre piedra o tierra porque, en alguna ocasión me resbalado por pisar alguna hoja.
Toda la bajada es un continuo chirimiri. Estoy bastante empapado y protejo el teléfono para que no se estropee al mojarse.
Aunque no conseguimos disfrutar de las vistas, la caminata es bastante agradable porque vamos oliendo la tierra mojada y las hojas húmedas de eucaliptos y pinos.
Es muy agradable bajar por estos senderos neblinosos y solitarios. A nadie se le ha ocurrido bajar por este monte con este mal tiempo.
Llegamos a Camposancos, donde ya no llueve y nos quitamos los impermeables. Estamos muy sudados porque estos plásticos nos han dado mucho calor.
Llegamos a la playa y poco después enlazamos con un sendero azul. Me alegro mucho de que, en esta localidad, hayan facilitado caminar junto al mar y podamos disfrutar de la naturaleza. En nuestros caminos de días anteriores hemos disfrutado mucho en Portugal.
El sendero bordea el Monte de Santa Tegra y nos conduce a A Guarda. En la confluencia del Miño con el mar esta la isla A Ínsua.
El tiempo se está despejando y, entre las nubes, va apareciendo un cielo azul muy limpio y luminoso.
En la isla A Ínsua hubo un convento franciscano. Toda la isla es una fortaleza y especulamos con que haya sido una prisión como la de Alcatráz.
Desde aquí, puede verse el pico previo a la playa de Alcora donde comimos ayer.
Poco a poco nos acercamos a A Guarda con sus casas apiñadas de colores frente al puerto.
Comemos en el mismo paseo y nos deleitamos con un típico arroz con marisco y vieras. Probamos también, por primera vez en este viaje, los clásicos pimientos de Padrón de los que tanto disfrutamos el año pasado.
Decidimos que, si esta tarde se despeja, volveremos a arriba para ver las vistas frustradas por la niebla hoy.

Walking on the Mount of Santa Tegra
Today we will continue the Portuguese Way along the Coast and enter Spain.
It is cloudy but it does not rain. I hope it stays that way.
To cross the river Miño and leave Portugal, take the ferry in Carminha, where we have stayed overnight. A brief journey takes us to Spain.
From the maritime station, we decided to ask for a taxi to go up to the Mount of Santa Tegra, which is 341 meters high.
This mountain is very interesting because it was inhabited by the Celtic people before the Romans arrived. Here more than 5000 people lived in the fourth century a.c. That is, 2400 years ago!
They lived in a walled enclosure quite neat and that has been preserved quite well. They are currently conducting excavations and Celtic castros are being discovered at all times. Their houses were circular. The walls were stone walls that have remained almost intact and were covered with a thatched roof.
On the top of the mountain is the hermitage of Santa Tegra, a local martyr. The church is dated in the twelfth century and initially belonged to the Franciscan order. In front of the Church is the San Francisco crossing that was erected in the 16th century. Also, these friars lived on the Portuguese island A Ínsua, which is located at the confluence of the Miño river with the Atlantic Ocean.
From the high part we appreciate excellent views but abruptly the fog covers everything. Everything is hidden and also, covered with thick fog, it starts to rain very thinly and soaks us very quickly.
We cannot see the Celtic castro more closely, so we begin to walk since the rain is soaking us. You have to go down quickly because it probably doesn't rain at levels below the cloud.
We are a bit frustrated because the cloudiness does not allow us to see the mouth of the Miño river.
However, we go down some very beautiful paths through beech, oak, eucalyptus and pine forests.
We must be careful and step on stone or earth because, on occasion I slipped by stepping on a leaf.
The whole descent is a continuous chirimiri. I am quite soaked and protected the phone so it does not get damaged when wet.
Although we cannot enjoy the views, the walk is quite pleasant because we are smelling the wet earth and the wet leaves of eucalyptus and pine trees.
It is very nice to go down these foggy and lonely trails. No one has ever thought about going down this mountain in this bad weather.
We arrive at Camposancos, where it no longer rains and we take off the raincoats. We are very sweaty because these plastics have given us a lot of heat.
We arrive at the beach and shortly after we connect with a blue path. I am very happy that in this town they have facilitated walking by the sea and we can enjoy nature. In our paths of previous days we have enjoyed a lot in Portugal.
The path borders the Monte de Santa Tegra and leads us to A Guarda. At the confluence of Miño with the sea is the island A Ínsua.
The weather is clearing and, among the clouds, a very clean and bright blue sky appears.
On the island of Ínsua there was a Franciscan convent. The whole island is a fortress and we speculate that it was a prison like Alacatraz.
From here, you can see the peak before the beach of Alcora where we ate yesterday.
Little by little we approach A Guarda with its colorful houses in front of the harbor.
We eat on the same walk and we delight in a typical rice with seafood and scallops. We also tried, for the first time on this trip, the classic Padrón peppers that we enjoyed so much last year.

For the photography I use my iPhone X. For edition I use the Snapseed application and for the digital signature the Watermark app.
Everything I did on my mobile phone, I did not use the computer at all.
For the drawings, I use the Sketches program and paint them on the tablet.

Hola amigo, por aquí de nuevo luego de días sin Internet. Observo algo distinto en cada fotografía, es algo maravilloso que añade algo extra. Han tomado riesgos importantes en el camino, la niebla es de cuidado, se torna tan espesa que muchas veces nos puede desviar del camino. Igual lamento que no hayan logrado tomar la fotografía deseada.
Debo ponerme al día con las anteriores publicaciones, mientras tanto siguen teniendo buen camino. Saludos.
Me imaginaba que tu ausencia era debido a un problema técnico que espero se solucione pronto. En efecto dependemos del tiempo. Pienso que lo peor es la lluvia intensa o el sol abrasador pero no hemos tenido ninguna de estas circunstancias. Por ahora, hemos podido avanzar con algún impedimento pequeño, pero superable.
