Aloha my wonderful Hive mates in this community. Happy last day of Feb-ibig month!πŸŽ‰ How are you? Have you made your whole month of February memorable, with great experiences and valuable life lessons? Before the calendar turns flips out again, let me share with you one of my great experiences, and mind you, its a first time for me to witness and experienced such kind of activity together with my boyfriend's family. Yay! (Close yarn?(≧▽≦))

Back when global pandemic was at its peak, more and more people were struggling in their daily life needs, especially when it comes to food supply. Because of the decrease number of manpower, the production of food decreased as well, which is why, the demand for it was very high. And in that case, as the demand increases, the prices of goods will also increase. And here comes, this so called, "Inflation." I guess most of us, especially here in our country (Philippines) really felt the increase of every goods being sold in the market. Not getting too far, let me talk about the price of fishes.

Believe it or not, most fish vendors were selling their fishes at a price ranges from Php 220(approximately $4.4) to Php 380 (approximately $7.6) per kilo. OMG! It even exceeds the price of meat in here. As a result, people here in our little barrio learn to make their own fish ponds. Yes! Most of our neighbors here have their own fish ponds. Even my papa planned to make ours too.

Rhed's parents made their own too. And the other day, I have witnessed and experienced for the first time of how they catch "Tilapia Fish" at their man-made pond.

At around 10:30 am, Rhed and I, together with his younger sister went to their fish pond. We took some time to reach our destination due to the mud along our way. So, we need to be careful for us to not accidentally fall in the ground then. Here's this Rhed, taking some photos while we were tracking the way.

For less than an hour, we reached the Fish pond and their parents were their making a new pond.

After a while of resting, Rhed's father prepared the nets and then they started fishing. I was stunned seeing his younger sister didn't take any hesitation to be in that pond. Like, "what if there are leeches?" But yes, she was brave enough to do that herself. While me, I was just like their video and photographer at that time. Lol. XD.

They have tried to catch some fishes three times. I was on the moon while watching them and the fishes flying here and there. (β β˜†β β–½β β˜†β )

Every catch worth a hundred smiles. Especially when they get the big ones.🐟 Then they picked out only those that are big ones and put back the small ones on the pond.

After putting the big ones to the basket, we decided to go home. His mother initiated to share some for us (my family). It was really a blessing knowing that we don't actually had a viand for our lunch that day. I went home bringing the Tilapia and my mama was very happy to see it. She immediately clean the fishes and fried it.

Final Thoughts:

Indeed it was really a blessing. Having a fish pond is very helpful because we can save some for the budget for viand then. Well, this method will only be for those who are really up for something like this. It will take time, effort, patience, and of course, money. For without it, getting a big catch will never be possible.

Lesson Learned:

In order for us to reach and achieve our goals in life, we should really work and strive for it!

That would be all for this blog. Thank you for your time.

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!πŸ˜‡

Super cool post. I have dreamed of having my own fishing pond on a future property of mine. I fish a lot of public and private ponds. Some of them are rarely fished by people which makes them very fruitful.

Whatever method we use to catch fish can be fun. It can be a solo or family thing. Fishing really does heal us or bring us closer together as a family. It's good to see you all gathered quite a bit:)

Wow that is expensive for fish there. Is the market price up because many have turned to fish for food? Anyways take care and have a great week ahead.

Thanks a lot sir Bob for appreciating my post here..

Sure you can do that for sure. Waiting for you to share your story about it soon.

Yes, its serves a family bonding indeed.

Hmm.. I don't know why. Maybe one of the reasons was the supply and demand of the fish too.

You too sir Bob. Thanks for always dropping by.. :-)

Tilapia is my favorite fish. Do you freeze all of them or do you sell some?
