BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || EVEN STEVENS Ruleset
EVEN STEVENS
"Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles"
EVEN STEVENS is one of the rulesets that only allows the use of monsters with even mana. There is no special way to deal with this Ruleset. However, some abilities are only owned or often found on monsters with Even Mana. Some of them are abilities that regulate speed such as SWIFTNESS and SLOW . While the ability that is rarely owned by monsters with Even Mana is the SNEAK ability.
However, this does not apply to all elements because there is a possibility that the abilities mentioned above are also found on the opposite Mana (there are monsters with even Mana that have SNEAK ability or monsters with odd Mana that have SLOW ability). Some examples include :
In CHAOS LEGION Edition, most of the monsters that have SNEAK ability are monsters with Odd Mana and only Iza the Fanged is a monster with Even Mana. While monsters that have the SLOW ability are mostly monsters with even mana and only Mycelic Slipspawn and Scavo Hireling are monsters with odd mana.
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to EVEN STEVENS, the Ruleset in this battle is...
MELEE MAYHEM
MELEE MAYHEM is a ruleset that allows Melee monsters to attack from any position (without this ruleset, Melee monsters need additional abilities to attack even if they are not in the first position).
Monsters with certain abilities can be used to utilize this Ruleset. Abilities such as DOUBLE STRIKE , REPAIR , HALVING can be used to help TANK defeat opposing monsters or to help TANK survive longer.
FIRE AND REGRET
FIRE AND REGRET is one of the Rulesets that gives additional abilities to all monsters in the battle arena. The ability given is in the form of RETURN FIRE which is useful for providing counterattacks if hit by attacks from Ranged monsters. Of course, Ranged attack monsters are not recommended for use if they are in the FIRE AND REGRET Ruleset. But if it turns out that the Ranged monster to be chosen can provide benefits or buy time, it's good if you bring it to the battle arena.
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
- Give an additional 1 SPEED and 1 ARMOR to All Allies | I chose Kelya Frendul because she can provide an additional 1 SPEED so that there is a possibility that my monsters can attack first and an additional 1 ARMOR so that the attack from an opponent's Melee or Ranged monster does not directly hit Health points. In addition, I chose Kelya Frendul which is a Water Summoner because there are many Melee monsters with high Attack power and SPEED. | |
TRAMPLE + ENRAGE + RETALIATE | Diemonshark is a must-have monster in almost every battle when I want to use Kelya Frendul. When it gets attacked by an opponent's Melee monster, there is a 50% chance that it will counterattack the monster because it has the RETALIATE ability. And if its Health points are less than 100%, Diemonshark will be in RAGE mode which gives it a 1.5x boost to its ATTACK POWER and SPEED. | |
FLYING + VOID + ENRAGE | Although Diemonshark is a monster that I often use, it has the disadvantage of not having an antidote when it gets attacked by Magic monsters. It needs a certain ability to be able to withstand or reduce the impact of damage from the opponent's Magic monster attack. Therefore I use Gargoya Lion which has VOID ability to reduce damage from attacks from the opponent's Magic monster. | |
OPPORTUNITY + POISON + DEMORALIZE | To reduce the ATTACK POWER of the opponent's Melee monster, the DEMORALIZE ability is required. Luckily Deeplurker has that ability at its maximum level. In addition to DEMORALIZE , Deeplurker also has the OPPORTUNITY and POISON abilities that can reduce the Health points of the opposing monster each round if the effect is successfully active. | |
CLEANSE + AMPLIFY + SWIFTNESS | As I said before, monsters with even Mana mostly have abilities like SLOW and SWIFTNESS . In Water SPLINTER, there is River Nymph which has SWIFTNESS ability which is useful to add 1 SPEED to all my monsters. | |
HEADWINDS | Monsters with Zero Mana are also included in Even Mana, so I used Torrent Fiend. Although the ability he has is HEADWINDS which is useful for reducing the ATTACK POWER of the opponent's Ranged monster. However, he can attack in the MELEE MAYHEM Ruleset and can lure monsters with the OPPORTUNITY ability to attack him first. | |
TAUNT + CLOSE RANGE + VOID + RETURN FIRE | I use Wave Brood to lure the attention of the opponent's monsters (other than TANK), so that their attacks aim at Wave Brood first. Wave Brood is also equipped with RETURN FIRE and VOID abilities which are useful when having to receive attacks from the opponent's Ranged or Magic monsters. |
BATTLE START !!!
The opponent uses Lux Vega as a summoner. Lux Vega itself is similar to Kelya Frendul, except that Lux Vega also gives an additional 1 Health point to all monsters and that is not found in Kelya Frendul.
In the first round, Diemonshark, Gargoya Lion, River Nymph, Torrent Fiend, and Wave Brood attacked Baakjira (though he managed to heal some of his Health points). Meanwhile, Deeplurker attacks Igor Darkspear and gives him a poison effect.
Meanwhile, all opposing monsters (other than Baakjira) are forced to direct their attacks to Wave Brood.
In the second round, Igor Darkspear lost due to a poison effect that reduced his Health points. Meanwhile, Wave Brood was defeated by Djinn Oshannus and Deeplurker. The attack from Gargoya Lion managed to hit Diemonshark but not the attack from Venator Kinjo.
Baakjira received attacks from Diemonshark and Deeplurker*. Although she managed to heal herself, she was affected by the poison from the attack. Then Gargoya Lion, River Nymph, and Torrent Fiend also attacked Baakjira.
In the third round, Djinn Oshannus attacked Diemonshark and made him enter Rage mode. Because of that, Diemonshark immediately defeated Baakjira and gave a follow-up attack to Gargiya Lion. Deeplurker, Gargoya Lion, and River Nymph successfully attacked the opponent's Gargoya Lion but not the attack of Torrent Fiend.
In addition to failing to attack, Torrent Fiend becomes the target of the attack from the opponent's Deeplurker.
In the fourth round, Gargoya Lion lost due to the poison effect while Torrent Fiend was defeated by the opponent's Deeplurker. After attacking, the opponent's Deeplurker became the target of my Deeplurker and was hit by the poison effect.
Diemonshark and River Nymph berhasil menyerang Djinn Oshannus namun serangan Gargoya Lion gagal mengenainya.
In the fifth round, the opponent's Deeplurker managed to attack Diemonshark. But that provoked a counterattack from Diemonshark and managed to defeat Deeplurker. After defeating him, Diemonshark continued his attack and defeated Venator Kinjo right away.

Review of this battle
The victory this time was thanks to my success in predicting what monsters the opponent brought in this battle. Although Wave Brood is a Ranged monster and is not favored in the FIRE AND REGRET Ruleset, at least it can divert the opponent's attacks to itself and prevent Diemonshark from losing to Magic monster attacks because Wave Brood has VOID ability while Diemonshark does not.
