Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

in this post, I will explain how to deal with Doctor Blight and make him useless (unable or always failing to launch his attacks).

DOCTOR BLIGHT

Doctor Blight is the first PROMO CARD of the CHAOS LEGION edition. It can only be obtained as a bonus for purchasing the CHAOS LEGION PACK in the initial purchase held around November 2021 (When BITCOIN reaches ATH which is around $69K).

His overall power stats are not that great whereas Doctor Blight only has 1 SPEED and 4 Health from level 1 to 4. His Attack Power is only 1 point when at levels 1 and 2, and rises to 2 points at levels 3 and 4.

Although with fairly low stats (but still suitable for monsters with Mana 4 points), because it is a PROMO CARD, Doctor Blight is equipped with several abilities that are quite troublesome.

At level 1 Doctor Blight already has AFFLICTION and CAMOUFLAGE abilities. AFFLICTION ability makes the affected monster cannot be healed by abilities such as HEAL, TANK HEAL, and TRIAGE. However, monsters affected by this ability can still be healed by CLEANSE ability. Meanwhile, the CAMOUFLAGE ability can make its users avoid monster attacks with abilities such as SNEAK, SNIPE, or OPPORTUNITY. However, monsters with CAMOUFLAGE ability can still be hit by attacks from BLAST and SCATTERSHOT abilities.

At level 2, he has an ability that is even more troublesome. That ability is POISON. When you only rely on healing abilities (HEAL, TANK HEAL, TRIAGE) but don't bring monsters with CLEANSE abilities when you face Doctor Blight, monsters hit by AFFLICTION as well as POISON can't do anything and just wait for defeat.

Meanwhile, at level 3 and level 4, Doctor Blight gets the SCAVENGER and WEAKEN abilities. Although they don't harm the target directly, each ability can be troublesome in certain situations.

The way to survive the attack of Doctor Blight is not only relying on monsters with CLEANSE ability or carrying TANK which has IMMUNITY ability. Another way is to try to evade the attack of Doctor Blight which is a Magic monster by using the PHASE ability.

	PHASE: Magic attack can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks)

The way PHASE ability works is almost the same as DODGE and FLYING abilities. If DODGE ability is useful for evading Melee or Ranged monster attacks, and FLYING ability is for evading monster attacks that do not have the same ability. Then PHASE ability is specialized to evade Magic monster attacks.

And if we look at the stats of Doctor Blight, he only has 1 SPEED. According to my last post (here), in order to 100% evade the opponent's attack, we need a SPEED difference of no less than 6.

If we look at some monsters that have PHASE abilities, we still need 1~3 additional SPEED (either from monsters with SWIFT abilities, Summoners that have additional SPEED, or we can rely on monsters with MARTYR abilities). The required amount applies if Doctor Blight does not receive additional SPEED or our monsters do not receive SPEED reduction.

Don't forget to always use monsters that haveBLINDabilities if you want to be able to evade the attacks of other opposing monsters as well.

And below are some battles where the attacks of Doctor Blight "can't" hit monsters with PHASE abilities (I used Void Dragon)

1st BATTLE

In this first battle, I encountered an opponent who used Doctor Blight while in the MELEE MAYHEM and TARGET PRACTICE Rulesets.

In MELEE MAYHEM, all Melee monsters can attack from any position. Therefore, I placed Djinn Chwala as a TANK so that he can hurt the Melee monsters that attack him with his THORN ability.

Meanwhile, in TARGET PRACTICE, Ranged and Magic monsters (also NO ATTACK monsters that get Attack Type of Ranged or Magic) will first target their attacks to NO ATTACK or Ranged or Magic monsters that are not in the first position. Therefore, I relied on the strategy of MARTYR (Venari Marksrat) & RESURRECT (Spirit Druid Grog) and put Void Dragon after Venari Marksrat.

After Venari Marksrat is defeated twice. *Void Dragon and Djinn Chwala get an additional 2 points of STATS.

Until the fifth round, Doctor Blight and other opposing monsters could not attack Void Dragon. The one attack received by Void Dragon came from Supply Runner which has a SPEED difference that is not so far away.

The opponent also had a monster with a PHASE ability (Almo Cambrio). Several times the attacks from my monsters that have SPEED 1 point missed. But because the previous opponent's TANK (Djinn Chwala) was defeated, Almo Cambrio filled the TANK position and the attack targets of my non-Melee monsters changed.

2nd BATTLE

In this second battle, I used the same 4 monsters and 1 summoner because in this battle there was one of the best Rulesets to use the MARTYR 7 RESURRECT Strategy, the Ruleset was FOG OF WAR. I also brought a monster with SWIFT ability (Supply Runner) and a monster with POISON ability (Venari Seedsmith). Because in the EQUALIZER ruleset, there is a possibility that the opponent will bring monsters with greater HEALTH. Therefore, the use of POISON here is to accelerate the defeat of the target.

Before Venari Marksrat lost for the second time. The opponent had first lost Cursed Windeku.

Until the battle was over, none of the monsters on the opponent's side managed to land their attacks on the Void Dragon.
