Exploring the Dayara Thach: A Journey Through beautiful mountains🏔️ and Camping at 11,500 Feet.

Today, I want to show you one of the beautiful village in Rohru city, which is a lovely city situated in Shimla district, in Himachal Pradesh.

So without wasting anytime let me take you to the 📍Janglik village .

Janglik village is home to less than 1000 people, surrounded by beautiful mountains. The houses in the village are more than 50 years old and built with wooden and stones making them resistant to earthquakes.

In the upper regions of Himachal Pradesh, many temples and old houses are built using special stones interlocking system and using wood in between. These structures are crafted beautifully, following local traditions and culture. One reason for using these materials is their resistance to earthquakes. The combination of wood and stone helps prevent cracks, unlike modern houses.

This traditional method of construction has been passed down through generations and has great importance in the region due to its effectiveness and most importantly the cultural significance.

Additionally, there's a primary school in the village, which I find amazing. In remote areas like this, where roads are closed for about 5 to 6 months due to heavy snowfall, it's difficult for children to travel to the city every day, especially during winters. Having a school in the village makes it easier for them to get an education and there was dispensary attached to school here which can also provide some medical facility to the people of the village.

After spending our first night in the village, we woke up early the next morning to start our hiking journey. Our starting point was the village of Tanglik. We hiked through the beautiful landscape for about 3 to 4 hours until we reached 📍Tharanchu Thach.

By the time we arrived, we were ready for our first meal of the day, which also served as our breakfast. Since we knew we had a long day of hiking ahead of us, we opted for a heavy meal to provide us with the energy that we needed throughout the day.

For breakfast, we enjoyed heavy stuffed parathas filled with potatoes (known as aloo stuffing parathas) along with two bananas and some dry fruits. We made sure to fuel up with good meal to ensure we had enough stamina for the trekking.

As we continued along our hiking route, we encountered many small water crossings throughout the landscape.

Big trees surrounded us, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The vibes of the place were such that we felt as though we were wandering through a jungle, far away from civilization, in the heart of nature surrounded by beautiful mountains 🏔️.

After hiking for an additional 5 to 6 hours we finally reached 📍Simar Thach, a stunning valley with snowy peaks that looked like photos from a magazine. Personally for me it felt like a dream which come true, with the breathtaking view of the mountains. You can see the beauty of the landscape in the photographs.

Upon arriving at 📍Simar Thach, we discovered a small dhaba, a local shop where we decided to have our lunch. The locals operated this shop and prepared the food for the hikers. When we asked them about their supplies, they explained that they transported everything from the village Janglik using horses and donkeys. Additionally, they mentioned that there were various water sources in the area, eliminating the need to carry water. The water flowed from glaciers through different channels down the hill.

By around 7-8 pm, we reached our campsite for the second day, 📍Dayara Thach, situated at an altitude of 11,500 feet.[//]:# (!pinmapple 31.34636 lat 78.06627 long d3scr)

As we set up our tents, our guide started preparing dinner, and we helped him with managing his stuff and helping him in cooking by cutting veggies, salads and also helped him in serving food.

The view from our campsite was so beautiful and I wished I could sleep outside the tent to enjoy the scenery all night.

But the temperature here at night dropped to - 5° to -6° Celsius, so I had to stay inside the tent for warmth.
