Reflections and Small Steps Toward Change

Reflections and Small Steps Toward Change
Lately, I’ve been going through a bit of a rough patch—a general sense of weariness, a lack of energy, and a feeling of stagnation. Is it just the result of a few bad nights? The weight of personal worries dragging down my mood? Or maybe a deeper lack of motivation, a kind of burnout from the daily grind? As the years go by, there’s also this nagging feeling that I’m not moving forward, that I’m stuck in place. Should I consider changing jobs? Adjusting my schedule? Maybe my expectations are too high, or perhaps there’s just something in my head that isn’t clicking. But what? These questions keep circling in my mind: Have I made the right choices in life? Does my life look the way I imagined it would?
To try and sort through these thoughts, I’ve scheduled an appointment with a psychologist. Will it help? That’s the big question right now. In the meantime, I’m focusing on the things that still bring me joy, even in small ways. My automated curation bot, for example, is a little project that keeps me engaged outside of work. Unfortunately, my job no longer excites me the way it once did. I find myself dreading it more and more, feeling as though I’m trapped in my current position with no room to grow. I’ve heard from many people that to advance—whether in role or salary—you often have to change companies. I’m keeping that option in mind, but for now, I’m taking things one step at a time.
Today, I’m off work, and I plan to make the most of it. Instead of overthinking, I’ll use this time to have fun, learn something new, and, most importantly, take care of myself. Because sometimes, change starts with small steps: a passion project that brings a smile to your face, a moment of relaxation, or simply the decision to refocus on what truly matters. What if this period of doubt is actually an opportunity to reshuffle the deck? Only time will tell, but for now, I choose to stay positive and keep moving forward, even if it’s slowly.
