Sending My Loot on DefiKingdom's Birthday. Will it work?

Chilly morning, when the city just recovered from an outpour rain and still drizzling, I got this in my notification message saying that it has been a year since the launch of this Web3 (probably one of the first) game-fi (outside HIVE chain that I know) and this team is still kicking and alive!

Definitely a cause for celebration. They even state it on their main page!

Moreover, with the announcement that we have all been waiting for, all our loot to be able to travel to the other DFK chain has come true!

But how safe it is?

And where can I start?

Apparently it is not from the usual Dock interface from the site itself, but it is inside the Inventory page. There when you click on the item you can actually now see "Bridge item"

Though gas fees are a little pricy on the Harmony chain these days; so I better test bridge some of the items that I can afford to loose first (less value)

I guess Bloaters can be a "safe chip" for the first test cross over. I hope I can exchange some $JEWEL there to keep expanding my input and hopefully can get some good decent harvest that can change back to USDC and move them out for bills.

As usual, anything that interacts in the protocol requires contract signing and everything definitely needs to cost the gas fees; but if I am slowly migrating most of my assets to Crystalvale (DFK Chain) then this is eventually inevitable; unless I burn them off into $JEWEL token and bridge the token instead.
(Because I have been exchanging it)

However, things like the brewed potions and gold would definitely do good for more important future projects there; and if I get another egg I don't have to "sell-bridge-buy back" again.

Tedious, but at the time when crystalvale was much higher priced than JEWEL, I actually had some profit during the transition

Once the contract is approved, it is time we can bridge the item.

However unlike HIVE, we got to be careful of the gas fees. It can suddenly spike due to some Whale who wants to bridge fast; so changing to the usual workable default gas fees would be a better choice.

(Gone with the days when it only cost 30 GWEI....)

image.png

Once all is set at the Metamask wallet, it is good to go!

From what I have experienced, token poket wallet doesn't allow me to edit my GWEI as it follows the latest gas fee price. If I set it too low it will refuse to move. Better stick to Metamask at the moment though I don't quite like it.

So how long did it take?

image.png

Fortunately, I think I am in the after party so the traffic was a lot better compared to when the party was still going on earlier (I think on Monday). I could see my bloater is already safely transferred over.

Now that was successful, time to bridge the more precious loot that I need to use later

image.png

Unfortunately...

Maybe because it is an hot item, unlike the bloater, this time it is taking longer for the contract to execute and arrive on time.

Unfortunately, I forgot to use this magic number for the more popular items... so it will take a lot longer, probably a few hours, before I can see my harvested gold to reach to the other side.

How was the overall feel for the "item bridging"; does it work?

It definitely works I must say, just that probably unwisely set GWEI for the gas fees might slow down the entire process and others might get stuck.
