It's a sad day for Splinterlands.

The Splinterlands team has released a sombre post titled "To the Splinterlands Community".

They have announced that they have let go 45% of their team, citing the crypto bear market and the most recent crash.

Fortunately, the Splinterlands team is not directly related to the FTX saga. However, the prolonged crash in crypto has put a strain on their finances and they are taking a step back.

Renewed Roadmap incoming

With the cut in Splinterlands team, they are pivoting towards delivering the promises made, both long ago and recently.

When the team was at full capacity, many projects were completed and released at breakneck speed.

Just to name a few accomplishments:

2. Genesis League Sports
3. Runi
4. Splinterfeast
5. Riftwatchers
6. Tower Defence
7. Splinterlands TV on Twitch
8. Modern vs Wild
9. Proposal voting
10. Coding upgrades and quality-of-life improvements
11. Reward upgrades and Rshares
12. Disincentive for bot farms to spam accounts
13. Validator nodes

With the reduced team size, the team will be looking at creating a new roadmap with the promise of delivering promises made to the community.

We can't ask for more than having the promises met and the game improved for us players.

Thank you for creating Splinterlands and giving gamers like me a chance to earn while playing a game.

It's a dream come true.

Continue building Splinterlands into a TCG that can compete with the big boys in the esports scene.

Make the game strategic, tactical, intellectual, challenging, and fun to play.
