Since its debut way back in 2011, the Armenian, 1oz, Noah’s Ark silver coin has captivated collectors and investors alike with its stunning design and impeccable craftsmanship. This silver coin is definitely a favourite of mine. While im not religious, the design and concept of this coin does appeal to me. Produced by Geiger Edelmetalle AG and Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung GmbH, this coin marks a significant milestone as the first silver bullion coin from Armenia.

Crafted with precision, each 1oz Silver Noah's Ark contains one troy ounce (31.1035 grams) of .999 fine silver, making it a prized addition to any precious metal portfolio. Legal tender in Armenia, the coin boasts a face value of 500 Dram, underscoring its official status and intrinsic value.

On the obverse side, the coin showcases the coat of arms of Armenia alongside the denomination of 500 Dram and the issuing country "REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA," presented in both Armenian and English. Additionally, the weight of 1oz and the purity of Ag 999 are prominently displayed, affirming the coin's authenticity and quality.

Turning to the reverse side, designed by the talented artist Eduard Kurghinyand, we are greeted with a timeless scene: Noah's Ark in front of Mount Ararat, the national symbol of Armenia. A dove carrying an olive branch, symbolizing peace and hope, gracefully flies in the foreground, adding depth and symbolism to the composition. The edge of the coin bears the inscription "Noah's Ark" in both languages, further emphasizing the theme of this iconic design.

I wasn't sure if Mount Ararat was where Noah's ark landed, or if it was where God gave the ten commandments to Moses, but now I remember that was mount Horeb.

Cool coin addition to the collection man!

That is pretty cool. I guess I never realized that mountain was in Armenia.
