My Top 3 Favorite Books 📚 (En-Es)

Hello again reader friends. I'm here this time to tell you about my three favorite books. They are among the few books I own in physical form, since where I live I don't have as much access to books as I would like, like Harry Potter or Twilight, to give an example. Anyway these three are my favorites and I have read them several times over the years.

Hola de nuevo amigos lectores. Estoy aquí esta vez para hablarle de mis tres libros preferidos. Son de los pocos libros que poseo en físico, ya que donde vivo no tengo tanto acceso a los libros que quisiera, como los de Harry Potter o Crepúsculo, por poner un ejemplo. En fin estos tres son mis favoritos y los he leído varias veces a través de los años.

#1 Peter Pan and Wendy, by James Matthew Barrie

I liked this book a lot since I was a child and I think the reason is quite obvious. First of all my name is in the title and that's already something that attracts. I must admit that before reading the book I had already seen the animated movie, because like all children I grew up watching Disney. For this reason, the first time I saw the book I bought it and it quickly became one of my favorites. Unfortunately it got wet and spoiled, but a few years ago I bought this version that I have now and was able to read it again.

I admire the way the author takes us into this fantasy world where we all become children again. One of my favorite parts is when they talk about the origin of the fairies and describe them. Truthfully, I think it is a very nice book and one that every child, primarily, should read.

#1 Peter Pan y Wendy, de James Matthew Barrie

Este libro me gustó mucho desde pequeña y creo que la razón es bastante obvia. Primero que todo mi nombre está en el título y eso ya es algo que atrae. Debo admitir que antes de leerme el libro ya había visto la película animada, pues como todos los niños crecí viendo Disney. Por esta razón, la primera vez que ví el libro lo compré y rápidamente se convirtió en uno de mis preferidos. Desafortunadamente se mojó y se echó a perder, pero hace algunos años me compré esta versión que tengo ahora y pude volverlo a leer.

Admiro la forma en que el autor nos adentra a este mundo de fantasía en el que todos volvemos a ser niños. Una de mis partes preferidas es cuando se habla del origen de las hadas y las describen. La verdad, creo que es un libro muy bonito y que cada niño, principalmente, debería leer.

#2 The Canterville Ghost and other stories, by Oscar Wilde

In this book we can find several stories by the author Oscar Wilde. Of all of them, the longest and also my favorite is The Canterville Ghost , which tells how an American family moves to an English mansion where a ghost lives, and none of them is the least bit afraid of him. The ghost is presented as someone evil and unfeeling, who takes pleasure in scaring others. In fact, I really like the way the book describes the ghost's various exploits, that is, his most famous scares. But in reality he only seeks to rest in peace and for this he asks for help from the young daughter of the American family.

Other stories in the book are:

• The Lord and the Rose
• The Happy Prince
• The Selfish Giant
• The Young King
• The famous rocket

All of them are very beautiful and interesting, besides that they leave a great teaching. Among all of these my favorite is The happy prince, that every time I read it brings tears to my eyes at the end, because it tells the story of the statue of a prince which is very valuable because it is covered in gold and his eyes and mouth are jewels. The statue befriends a dove that always rests in his shadow and thanks to her, he learns what his people are suffering and with her help, little by little he gets rid of his jewels to help the people. If you want to know how it ends, I encourage you to read this beautiful story.

#2 El fantasma de Canterville y otros cuentos, de Oscar Wilde

En este libro podemos encontrar varios cuentos del autor Oscar Wilde. De todos ellos, el más largo y también mi preferido es El fantasma de Canterville , que cuenta como una familia americana se muda a una mansión inglesa donde habita un fantasma, y ninguno de ellos le tiene el más mínimo miedo. El fantasma es presentado como alguien malvado y sin sentimientos, que siente placer en asustar a los demás. De hecho me gusta mucho como en el libro se describen las diversas hazañas del fantasma, o sea, sus más famosos sustos. Pero en realidad este solo busca descansar en paz y para esto pide ayuda a la joven hija de la familia americana.

Otros cuentos que trae el libro son:

• El señor y la rosa
• El príncipe feliz
• El gigante egoísta
• El joven Rey
• El famoso cohete

Todos ellos son muy bonitos e interesantes, además de que dejan una gran enseñanza. De todos estos mi preferido es El príncipe feliz, que cada vez que lo leo me saca las lágrimas al final, pues cuenta la historia de la estatua de un príncipe la cual es muy valiosa pues está revestida en oro y sus ojos y boca son joyas. La estatua se hace amiga de una paloma que siempre descansa en su sombra y gracias a ella, se entera de lo que sufre su pueblo y con su ayuda, poco a poco se va deshaciendo de sus joyas para ayudar a la gente. Si quieren saber cómo termina, los exhorto a leer esta bella historia.

#3 The raven said Nevermore, by Carlo Frabetti

This is a very nice book that makes you love or at least, get a little interested in poetry, because it tells the story of a girl who is in a hospital due to an accident she had and her laptop receives a strange message in code. With the help of a literature professor, who enters her room by mistake, she discovers the code and the two form a team to decipher the following messages that arrive, very intelligent messages where poetry is the key to understand them. In this game the girl, called Claudia, will enter the world of poetry while falling in love with the professor.

It is a book that I read when I was 16 or 17 years old, and I liked it very much, because thanks to it I got to know great writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, Rubén Darío and Adolfo Becquer, among others. Something I love about the book is that it comes with appendices at the end where you can read the biography of all the writers mentioned, as well as their poems. Among my favorites are "Sonatina", by Rubén Darío; "Rimas", by Adolfo Becquer and "Y enseguida anochece", by Salvatore Quasimodo.

#3 El cuervo dijo nunca más, de Carlo Frabetti

Este es un libro muy bonito que te hace amar o al menos, interesarte un poco por la poesía, pues cuenta la historia de una muchacha que está en un hospital debido a un accidente que tuvo y a su laptop le llega un extraño mensaje en código. Con la ayuda de un profesor de Literatura, que entra en su habitación por error, descubre el código y los dos forman un equipo para descifrar los siguientes mensajes que le van llegando, mensajes muy inteligentes dónde la poesía es la clave para entenderlos. En este juego la muchacha, llamada Claudia, irá adentrándose al mundo de la poesía a la vez que se enamora del profesor.

Es un libro que leí cuando tenía 16 o 17 años, y me gustó mucho, pues gracias a él conocí a grandes escritores cómo Edgar Allan Poe, Rubén Darío y Adolfo Becquer, entre otros. Algo que me encanta del libro es que viene con unos apéndices al final donde puedes leer la biografía de todos los escritores que se me cionan, así como sus poemas. Entre mi preferidos están "Sonatina", de Rubén Darío; "Rimas", de Adolfo Becquer y "Y enseguida anochece", de Salvatore Quasimodo.

Anyway, these are my favorite books, as you can see they are a bit worn, since I have read them many times. I hope you liked my review.
