Hello, Hivers! Today, I had the chance to walk around the town of Bogo City here in the north of Cebu Island, which was not quick but slow and reflective. The main reason why I was able to roam around the town was because Zuki, our dog, had a due vaccination today, and we had to complete his vaccine on time. After the vaccination, we were able to stroll around the town since we still had four hours left before night arrived. In this blog, I'll share with you our little walk around Bogo and what we did that was memorable, enthusiastic, and vibrant.

After finishing our business at the David Shepherd Veterinary Clinic, we moved to the central proper of the town where cafes, the plaza, and its famous pantaland can be seen. We headed to the Star Frappe cafe immediately because we had to cool our minds from outside, as the weather here is too hot and scorching it burns our soul. Cafes here are cold and cozy, so it was best to visit a cafe to not be stressed by the sun.

This cafe sells many foods including quesadillas, fries, pizzas, frappes, milk teas, and coffees. We bought all-cheese pizza, lemonade, and coffee. The main problem we had in this cafe was the fact that it is not pet-friendly, so we had to leave Zuki outside for two hours. But he was fine since the outside balcony was still cozy and full of shade. We also did our work and listed our for-sale items in the cafe since we are selling our unused items in the house for funds.

After the cafe, we walked around the city plaza where many students were practicing their school performance, visitors were taking their daily retreat, and hikers were going around the plaza multiple times. Many skaters were performing at the fountain corner, and most visitors were watching them. The plaza is filled with many trees of different species, and what I like about this plaza is that it gives people a place to breathe since the town is busy and stressful. This place is the only corner that gives us a safe place to breathe and calm ourselves. Zuki was able to run around the plaza, and he greeted many students. We sat on a bench watching people pass by, feeling nature, and loving the company I have with my boyfriend and our dog.

We then headed to the pantaland, but what we expected to see wasn't there since the pantaland is still under construction after the destruction from the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit the town. This town, for the record, was the ground zero or the epicenter of this big earthquake before. The town is still recovering in all aspects, including its physical appearance. The pantaland is part of the repairs, and there were no hikers, students, or visitors who used to be here or flock here, since it is under construction. But the view did not change. The beauty of the sea, the scene of nature, the blue atmosphere that would later turn orange as sunset happens, and the breeze from the seawater are still here. Only the pantaland itself changed and is not safe for staying since the road and concrete are destroyed and dust surrounds the area.

After that, since it was getting dark, we headed back to our town in San Remigio, which is 30 minutes from Bogo City. We had a quick walk around the town's complex and let Zuki run for the last time.

Even though some parts of the town were not what we expected, the day still felt complete in its own simple way. The slow walk, the quiet moments, and the small joys we shared made the trip meaningful, reminding me that even an ordinary day can turn into something special when spent with the right company.
